THE ather o the 12-year- old boy, who died ater alling rom a scrambler bike in north Belast at the weekend, has said that his son was the “light o my lie”. Daniel Mooney sustained serious head injuries ater he came o the bike in the Ballysillan area on Sunday night. Police confrmed he was a passenger on one o the bikes that had been driven in the area at around 9.15pm, which  were later seized. Police have already spoken to the rider o one o the scramblers, but have appealed or the rider o the other vehicle or any witnesses to the accident to come orward. Speaking to UTV last night, Daniel’s ather Fred said: “Everybody loved him. He loved his dogs and he loved everybody else – he would have helped anybody.” Mr Mooney said Daniel  was “the light o my lie” and described him as a “cheerul, cheeky, loveable wee boy”. Daniel, rom the Ardoyne area, was ound lying under a nearby parked Jeep and taken to hospital where he died a short time later. Solicitor John McBurney,  who is representing Mr Breen’s amily, said it is vital or any ormer security orces personnel who may be able to help to come orward.
