Caravan Country Music Showcase Tour 4 th January Just over 240 people were in attendance and appreciative of the musical talents of Gretta Ziller, Andrew Swift and Brad Cox. The oppressive heat failed to deter guests, but it did fuel a thirst! Friday Fun Nights~second Fri/Month Friday Fun Nights continue to prove popular on the second Friday of every month. Easter was the theme of the April event with an Easter Egg hunt for the young ones and young at heart. Junior cricketers had their annual break up and were presented with their awards. Jingellic Pony Club The JPC continues to promote and encourage young equestrians. It is also on the agenda to open membership to older riders to boost participant numbers. The annual JPC gymkhana is in early November. Thanks to the efforts of the JPC committee and their grant writing skills, the Showgrounds have 6 new outdoor settings that certainly enhance the amenities. Jingellic Cricket Club Congratulations to the Jingellic Jackals senior cricket side on their grand final win on the home ground. They had the benefit of playing a large proportion of games at home on our picturesque oval. (Tumbarumba oval was under repair) The JCC sponsors: Hancock Victoria Plantations, McCarthy Haulage, Jingellic General Store, Simply Clean and Marwood Earthmoving, had great exposure throughout the season on the new cricket shirts which they had funded and players were appreciative of their contribution. Jamming at Jingellic – 12 October The second jamming@jingellic Brew With A Beat event will be held on Saturday 12 th October. Come along and enjoy a wide variety of delicious food options, wine from some iconic Tumbarumba vignerons and brews from the Tumut River Brewing Company and the JDPAH bar and be entertained by an eclectic mix of live music! The Home brew competition is on again, so get brewing! Art: this year’s art theme will be recycled metal art /sculpture. Camping Short term camping on the showgrounds is permitted at the discretion of the committee. Site fees are $25/day for powered and $15 for unpowered. Private Events The facilities on the showgrounds are available for private or corporate hire: Birthday parties, family reunions community engagement events, corporate seminars and workshops are welcomed. Hire details and applications can be accessed via [email protected] Grants JDPAH was awarded $90,604 from the Stronger Country Communities Grants to contribute towards a project to install irrigation on the Jingellic Showgrounds. The project will provide a water and labour efficient irrigation system. 2019 Cattle Competition Jingellic & District PAH Society are promoting profitable, ethically produced and efficient beef production in the Upper Murray with the 2019 Upper Murray Beef Producers’ Competition. Commercial producers in the Upper Murray are invited to submit their best 10 commercial unjoined heifers up to 15 months and/or their best 10 commercial heifers up to 2 years old and pregnancy tested in calf. The heifers are judged on profit parameters of condition; structure; growth for age; maturity type; market suitability and temperament. The judging is done on farm by independent judges in mid-June. Entrants will receive feedback on their entries. The Entry fee is $40/Section. Prizes for each section: 1 st $500, 2 nd $200, 3 rd $100. Entries close Friday 31 th May 2019. Winners will be announced at the UPPER MURRAY BEEF PRODUCERS DINNER on 20 TH JULY .
