Prayer of Invocation/Confession
Forever God, Lord of the beginning and
the end, open our hearts so we can give
You the praise that is due Your holy
name. Let our prayers, and songs, and
every gesture, bring us closer to You and
make us more loving toward one
another, as Your people. Thank You, for
all that comes to us to make life livable
and useful. May we never become so
used to the wonder of Your world, that
we fail to appreciate the marvel of Your
provisions for our physical, mental and
spiritual needs. Thank You, Father, for
the church. Lead us to a greater
commitment to this living body of
Christ. Thank You for the foundation of
the church that has provided for our
journey and given strength for our
minds, souls and hearts. O Lord, You
have made this day for Yourself and for
us. It is Your day and we lift our praises
to the heavens and we rejoice. Amen.
Sing praises to the Lord, O you, his
faithful ones, and give thanks to his
holy name. Weeping may linger for
the night, but joy comes with the
morning.
Enter His Gates With Praise Page 2
OFFERTORY PRAYER Heavenly Father, give deeper meaning to
our giving and give wider use to our gifts.
Through the unlimited and loving power
of the Holy Spirit, do more than we ever
imagined. We gladly give our tithes,
mission gifts and sacrificial offerings,
today, and may they glorify Your name. If
we are reluctant stewards, please increase
our faith and our love. We desire to enter
into the joy of our Lord. Thank You for
giving us life and more life in Your love
and grace. Amen.
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory
and honor and power; for thou hast
created all things, and for thy pleasure
they are and were created. Revelation 4:11

Max Lucado's book...Out LIVE Your Life... “We are given a
choice...an opportunity to make a big difference during a difficult
time. What if we rocked the world with hope? Infiltrated all
corners with God's love and life? What if we followed the example
of the Jerusalem church? What can we learn from their priorities
and passion? We are created by a great God to do great works. He
invites us to outlive our lives, not just in heaven but here on
earth.”

“Grief Tool Box” September 2014
This month’s focus is on the many children who love and therefore grieve. If you know someone or may have children who could use the book, The Fall of Freddie the Leaf by Leo
Buscaglia, Ph. D., can be read to help children cope with death and loss. This is a story of life for all ages as well. Order it on Amazon.com or visit a nearby bookstore.
Scripture
“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 KJV
Prayer
Dear Lord, I thank you for the comfort you give in my loss. Help me to share the precious comfort you give to me with others. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
