The climbing equipment on the top playground has been in place for over 16 years and is nearing the end of life. So before half term we asked the School Parliament what ideas they had for a replacement. After several meetings and research sessions, the children came up with a host of new play equipment ideas they’d like to see in their playground. We have commissioned a play equipment company to use the children’s ideas to create a design plan of what the playground could look like (see below) . We’re all really excited by this design and think that it would be a fantastic resource for children to use at playtimes. Now for the matter of paying for it! Well, through very kind donations of funding left over from the swimming pool project, funding from Perranporth Gardens Charities and a Lottery grant, we have almost managed to get the finances in place to make the project a reality. We are still a short way from our final figure and would very much like any ideas of local sponsors who might be interested in supporting us in achieving this wonderful new play equipment for the school. If you know of any local companies who might support us, please let the School Office know. We’re extremely hopeful of having this project in place before the end of the current academic year so watch this space for updates! The playground equipment will having a completely new adventure trail on the top playground as in the top image (zoom in for details). The bottom playground will keep the existing pirate ship as this is already quite new with a new climbing tower next to it. Both areas will have all new safety rubber bark flooring in a colourful new design.

New Playground Plans

Over recent months we’ve noticed that our outdoor play equipment is past its’ best and in need of replacement. The

climbing equipment on the top playground has been in place for over 16 years and is nearing the end of life. So

before half term we asked the School Parliament what ideas they had for a replacement. After several meetings

and research sessions, the children came up with a host of new play equipment ideas they’d like to see in their

playground.

We have commissioned a play equipment company to use the children’s ideas to create a design plan of what the

playground could look like (see below) . We’re all really excited by this design and think that it would be a fantastic

resource for children to use at playtimes. Now for the matter of paying for it! Well, through very kind donations of

funding left over from the swimming pool project, funding from Perranporth Gardens Charities and a Lottery grant,

we have almost managed to get the finances in place to make the project a reality. We are still a short way from

our final figure and would very much like any ideas of local sponsors who might be interested in supporting us in

achieving this wonderful new play equipment for the school. If you know of any local companies who might support

us, please let the School Office know. We’re extremely hopeful of having this project in place before the end of the

current academic year so watch this space for updates!

The playground equipment will having a completely new adventure trail on the top playground as in the top image (zoom in for

details). The bottom playground will keep the existing pirate ship as this is already quite new with a new climbing tower next to it.

Both areas will have all new safety rubber bark flooring in a colourful new design.

Mud Kitchen Appeal

Trevithick Class are soon to have a new ‘mud kitchen’. It is hoped that this will be a wonderful re-

source for the children to explore messy learning outside. We are now in need of some old pots,

pans, plastic bowls, big spoons, ladles etc for the children to use in their kitchen. If you have any of

these items and would be willing to donate them, please drop them into Reception Class or the

School Office. Thank you.

Lowender Peran

This week our School Choir attended Lowender Peran (A Festival

to celebrate music, dance, arts and culture from Scotland, Ire-

land, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall and the Isle of man). The children

performed two Cornish songs which were recorded and will be

used to create a Cornish song resource for other schools in Corn-

wall. They then took part in some traditional Cornish dancing with the other

schools at the event. Our choir sang beautifully and showed some brilliant

dancing talents too! A huge well done to the children for representing our

school so well and a big thank you to the parents who came along to support

them. We would also like to offer our sincere thanks to Cornwall Heritage Trust

for kindly funding our transport to and from the event.

Reminder about Coats

Now that the winter weather is officially here, please can we remind parents that children

should be bringing a coat to school everyday. On rainy days we do try our best to let the

children get some fresh air and have a run around at playtimes. To do this we obviously

need them to be wearing a suitable coat which is why coats must be in school every day.

Parent’s Meetings

Letters and appointments for Parent’s Meetings have gone home this week. Meetings are taking

place on: Monday 7th November and Thursday 10th November. In response to parent feedback,

meetings will now start earlier from 1.30pm to 6pm. If you haven’t made an appointment please

pop into the office for a letter. Due to these meetings, after school clubs will be cancelled on Mon-

day and Thursday next week.
