❖ We thank the God who lights our way in the darkness. We thank the God who gives us stars to follow. Leading us from darkness to light, from confusion to understanding. We thank God who calls us and leads us into truth.
❖ Angels, From the Realms of Glory Nº 143
Riley Teed, liturgist Merciful God, you pardon all who truly repent and turn to you. We humbly confess our sins and ask your forgiveness. We have not loved you with all our heart, nor have we loved our neighbor as ourselves. We have not done justice, loved kindness, or walked humbly with you, our God. Have mercy on us, O God, in your loving kindness. In your great compassion, cleanse us from our sin. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Amen.
Silence is kept
WE ARE SUPPORTING Grass Roots Food Pantry for the fourth year with our reverse Advent calendar. For those wishing to participate during Advent through Epiphany (January 5), calendars will be available during coffee fellowship for suggested donations. You may also participate by placing something under the tree in the foyer after Christmas through January 5. Thank you from your Mission Committee.
THE STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE would again like to extend our heartfelt “thank you” to all who have returned their 2020 pledge cards. If you have not yet returned your pledge card, please consider how you might be able to support Valley and its many missions in 2020. Pledge cards can be returned to the church office or in the weekly offering. Additional cards are available in the Narthex or the church office. With gratitude, Your 2020 Stewardship Committee

❖ O Lord, Hear My Prayer Nº 471
❖ Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, to forgive us in our failures, to accept us as we are, to set us free from evil’s power and make us what we are meant to be. God has forgiven us.
The peace of Christ be with you. And also with you!
❖ Please greet those around you with the peace of Christ. ❖
❖ God Is So Good (v. 3 repeat) Nº 658
Son of Paul Walter, Jr. and Madison Wall Odomirok Grandson of Brent and Kimm Wall and Paul Sr. and Edie Odomirok
Great Grandson of John and Jini De Vries
Members of the congregation, do you, as members of the church of Jesus Christ, promise to guide and nurture Weston by word and deed, with love and prayer, encouraging him to know and follow Christ and to be a faithful member of his church? We do.
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Matthew 2:1-12 New Testament, p. 2 The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God!
A SPECIAL WELCOME TO ALL NEWCOMERS: we greet you in the name of Jesus Christ! Please fill out a visitor card, located in the pew back, and drop it in the offering plate when it is passed.
EARLY BIRD COFFEE FELLOWSHIP every Sunday, 9:30 am in the library. Stop by for coffee and conversation!

PLEASE BRING coats, hats and gloves to the bin outside the Fireside Room before the end of December. These items will help the coat drive for Northwest Children’s Outreach.

A BIG THANK YOU to Jim Pranger from Tuefel Landscape for donating the greens used at this year’s Advent Fair. Beautiful and fragrant wreaths and swags were made from the donated greens during the Advent Fair for people to take home.

Let us go, join the magi, bowing down to worship the Christ. Let us go to share the good news, that Jesus, the brother of the vulnerable and forgotten is in our midst still. Let us go to offer peace and goodwill to everyone. To spread the Good News of all we have seen and heard. Go in peace!
You are invited to remain seated to conclude worship with the postlude.
