At Scholastic Book Fairs, we’re always trying to come up with new ways to get more children reading and to help you plan, promote and run your best Book Fair ever. Scholastic Book Fairs – Getting children reading. Giving books to schools. Instructions: 1. Use this chart to share your Book Fair goal with parents, pupils and school staff. 2. Write in your Book Fair goal at the top and in increments next to the chart (e.g. 100 books, 200 books, 300 books; £400, £500, £600; €400, €500, €600 etc.). 3. Display the goal chart at your Book Fair so that visitors can see how it’s going. 4. Colour in segments of the chart as you advance towards your goal. 5. Celebrate once your goal is achieved! Barkley’s exploring the Book Fair Garden, looking for the reading bug. Ask your pupils to help him by drawing a picture of what they think the reading bug might look like. No one has seen one before –

but we do know that it loves books! The most original entry will win the prizes pictured.
