Biosketch (Summary) Name: Edward (Eddie) Haksing Ip, PhD Position: Professor, Department of Biostatistics and Data Science, Wake Forest School of Medicine (WFSM), North Carolina, USA. Trained at Stanford University as a statistician (Ph.D.) and psychometrician (A.M.) I have conducted research in both the areas of statistics and psychometrics for >20 years. My research focus include latent variable models, specifically item response theory, and longitudinal data analysis, specifically hidden Markov model. I have published 190 peer-reviewed journal articles, both in methodology journals such as the Journal of American Statistical Association, Statistics in Medicine, Psychometrika, Psychological Methods, and in substantive journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, American Journal of Public Health, Pediatrics, and Academic Medicine. Since I joined WFSM I received continuous funding from the National Science Foundation; R01, U01, R21, and SBIR funding from the National Institutes of Health; and method grant funding from the Institute of Educational Sciences, all as principal investigator (PI). I had the honor to be University Fellow (2002-2007) at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, and visited multiple times Professor Paul de Boeck’s lab in psychology. At WFSM, I had the honor to receive both the mid-career and senior research awards from the Division of Public Health Sciences as well as the Established Investigator Award in Basic Science from the School of Medicine. I actively participate in professional services. Name: Edward (Eddie) Haksing Ip, PhD

Position: Professor, Department of Biostatistics and Data Science, Wake Forest School of Medicine (WFSM), North Carolina, USA.

Trained at Stanford University as a statistician (Ph.D.) and psychometrician (A.M.) I have conducted research in both the areas of statistics and psychometrics for >20 years. My research focus include latent variable models, specifically item response theory, and longitudinal data analysis, specifically hidden Markov model. I have published 190 peer-reviewed journal articles, both in methodology journals such as the Journal of American Statistical Association, Statistics in Medicine, Psychometrika, Psychological Methods, and in substantive journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, American Journal of Public Health, Pediatrics, and Academic Medicine.

Since I joined WFSM I received continuous funding from the National Science Foundation; R01, U01, R21, and SBIR funding from the National Institutes of Health; and method grant funding from the Institute of Educational Sciences, all as principal investigator (PI).

I had the honor to be University Fellow (2002-2007) at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, and visited multiple times Professor Paul de Boeck’s lab in psychology.
