Wind Energy

I chose wind energy to power the new and improved TVHS because here in Tonopah we have lots of land and a significant amount of energy. Plus it doesn’t add pollution to the environment and quite frankly I’d rather look at wind turbines then this barren desert we call a view.

RequirementsTo complete this switch we’d

need to obtain some wind turbines. A wind turbine is a device that converts kinetic energy from the wind into mechanical energy. There are three types of turbines but I think that the Modern HAWT would be sufficient.

ChangesThere wouldn’t be very many

changes in the school itself. Although, Tonopah itself would change plenty for instance the scenery. Also some of the different desert animals might lose there homes.

Using Wind Energy in a School

Pros Cons

Safe for the environment.

Doesn’t release harmful gases.

Turbines can be placed in water or on land.

Can easily adapt to changes in wind direction.

Wind Energy is an unpredictable energy source.

Requires winds going up to 8miles an hour.

May be costly to build the turbines.

Redesigned TVHS

Because I wasn’t sure how to make the actual picture I decided a collage would be better. So I put: 1. Picture of the new school design.2. Wind Turbines that would be added around the area.3. A diagram on how the Turbines work.
