Life Flight Annual Memorial Speaker Jeffery T. Hirschi, DO
Emergency Medicine Intermountain Healthcare Wilderness Safety Expert Before pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Jeff Hirschi served as the Olympic ski race patrol director for the 2002 Winter Games. He worked as a mountaineering rescue patroller on Mt. McKinley at Denali National Park, search and rescue commander, and Utah Forest Service Avalanche Center backcountry observer. Dr. Hirschi graduated from medical school in 2009 and is an emergency medicine specialist in Salt Lake City.

Nursing Credit “Primary Children’s Hospital is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Western Multi-state
Division, an accredited Approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. ”Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, and Utah Nurses Associations are members of the Western Multi-State Division of the American Nurses Association.
This educational activity offers 15 nursing contact hours. Credit is awarded for the number of sessions fully attended. An additional 2–4 nursing contact hours are available based on optional labs attended.
Respiratory Care Credit Primary Children’s Hospital has submitted an application for 15 hours to the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) for continuing education
contact hours for respiratory therapists. Please provide AARC membership number during registration process.
AMA PRA Credit This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Intermountain LifeFlight, Primary Children’s Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Primary Children’s Hospital is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Primary Children’s Hospital designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 15 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM for the Main Conference and an additional 2–4 hours for each optional skills lab attended. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
EMS Provider Credit Main Conference CME credit approved by the Bureau of EMS for up to 15 credit hours and an additional 2–4 hours for the optional simulation lab.
Optional lab days and workshopsWednesday, February 21, 2018 / Session 1: 1–3 PM, Session 2: 3:30–5:30 PM These optional pre-conference sessions are for main conference attendees. Registration space is limited. More information regarding time and transportation will be in confirmation emails.
Simulation Lab Join us for a realistic transport simulation experience between ambulance and Primary Children’s Hospital’s state-of-the-art simulation center. Sessions focus on both neonatal and pediatric care. This program provides hands-on, interactive training in cognitive and behavioral skills. Our goal is to improve clinical skills, teamwork, and communication when managing a crisis situation.
Procedure Lab The procedure lab focuses on intubations, difficult airways, umbilical lines, I.O’s, and chest tubes.
