Neocate ® is a family of hypoallergenic, amino acid-based medical foods. Neocate is intended for use under medical supervision. Transitioning to the upgraded Neocate Junior For most children, teens and adults, changing from one formula to an upgraded version will be simple and may not require a “transition period.” Remember, everyone will go at their own pace. The simple steps in the table below are a guide to fading. Fading is a transition strategy where a small amount of something new is mixed with something familiar. This is achieved by gradually increasing the ratio of new to the old over time. What should I expect when transitioning to a formula without prebiotics to a formula with prebiotics?
Most individuals will experience no or minimal change when transitioning from a formula without prebiotics to a formula with prebiotics, however, some may experience a temporary period of gas and/or discomfort. It could take a short period to adjust and get used to the new formula. Parents and caregivers needing assistance should ask their healthcare team if they need to transition gradually on to the upgraded formula.
Anything else I should expect?
The same Neocate Junior flavors you have come to know, have now been upgraded and have a great, new taste. In addition to taste, some individuals may notice a difference in smell, color and texture of the upgraded formula compared to the previous versions.
