Power Generation Feasibility Study | AsiaCarried out feasibility study into the technical and financial viability of using opportunity fuels for power generation in Asia. Fuels such as LPG, condensate, naphtha and LSHFO were investigated. The study focused on combustion turbine power plants in the size range 40 MW to 700 MW for captive as well as IPP projects in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and India. The study required a fuel delivery price to be evaluated for each location on the basis of a given FOB price at the fuel source, transport cost, relevant import duties and fuel terminal storage & handling cost. For the case of LPG, cost estimates were obtained for port facilities able to off-load and store parcels ranging between 10,000 and 40,000 tonnes of refrigerated LPG. Each facility was designed to re-gasify LPG and compress it to the pressure necessary for intake into combustion turbines. Budgetary cost estimates for a number of power plants and the corresponding O&M cost was established enabling a power price to be evaluated for each option and compared with existing power tariffs for captive and IPP projects for each country. Ongoing work includes investigation into the use of LNG as a fuel switch for condensate.

BTU Gaseous Fuel Projects | Various Projects | PakistanInvestigate the technical and economic viability of low Btu gaseous fuel projects in Pakistan. A full analysis was carried out for the Liberty Project. This project comprised a two stage development each having an output of 235 MW ISO. Ongoing work includes investigation into the use of low Btu gas (200 to 400 Btu/Std cu ft).
