Mini Employer Conference to support usage of Online Banking Portal

Registered employers with NCSL are encouraged to utilize

the new employer online portal to endorse their staff

members applications which are lodged online via the

member portal.

The Banking & Receipting department has been hosting a

series of ‘mini’ employer conferences at the NCSL Head

Office Boardroom. The 2 weeks of these conferences was

attended by 47 employers with 62 representatives from

Human Resource (HR) and also included payroll officers

and accountants.

Officer in Charge of Banking & Receipting, Ms. Olive

Maurice, said the conference was to raise awareness to the

HR and Payroll Officers on the features of the online

employer portal and how to use it.

“We need all employers to get registered on the portal as

we see that using the portal is much faster in terms of

updating contribution and authorizing deductions for the

employees towards a quicker turn-around time on the

member applications,” said Maurice. “We are planning to

have more of these mini employer conferences in

subsequent months and also undertake visitations to the

employers.”

She said the HR/payroll officers were happy with the new

system saying,“SaveLoanSmart system is user friendly,

encourages a paperless environment and cuts down on

unnecessary additional work.”

“The mini employer conferences are very effective as we

see the number of employers using the portal increasing on

a daily basis,” Maurice said.

Currently, over 1,800 employers have been registered with

NCSL and only 184 of these employers are actively using

the portal to endorse employee applications and update

members’ data. We require all the employers to sign up so

that we can realize the full benefits of the new operating

system which will make life easy for everyone involved.

The Employer portal enables payroll/HR/Accounts

personnel to do the following;

1. Authorize salary Deductions for employee (s) that have

lodged online applications via the member portal/

telephone

2. Confirm the last pay date for employee (s) who would

like a full refund of their savings

3. View status on loan/refund applications that have been

authorized

4. View break up of regular amounts for each employee

5. Generate contribution schedules for each pay period

6. Download/upload contribution schedules

7. View status on contribution updates for each pay

period

To register your employer for further training or to access

the online portal, HR/payroll officers can contact Olive

Maurice on 313 2004 or email [email protected]

Maribeth Castaneda of Catholic

Archdiocese of Port Moresby: “It will

be beneficial to both employer and

employee by being able to view status of

of applications and contributions easily.”

John Kepui of George Kent Ltd:

“Excellent change of system to suit

modern technology and satisfactory

training program. Thank you NCSL.”

Ruth Napkai & Eastern Kasisie of Vanguard International: “This system is good and

also user friendly because it gives the employer a far better perspective on its employee

accounts and contributions. The training was informative and useful in regards to payments

and application processing. It would be better if members can also view the Kids Savings

Accounts via the system/online portal.”

Maggie Leipim & Fedora Sivi of Brian Bell: “Good system to help us save time and

also cuts down on paper work. It is more efficient and we’ve tried the member portal to

apply for 1:2 loan and got funds processed within less than 2 days. Thumbs up NCSL.

The training was good as we got to discuss key points, ask questions and raise

suggestions and ideas.”

Vitus Darley of CPL Group: “It is very

smart as it helps reduce payroll officers

workload to approve applications online.

It is better to use this system. I give credit

to NCSL.”

Tuman Kahai of Hastings Deering: “I

think the new operating system is very

good, I would suggest including the terms

of loan and the total gross loan to show on

the portal.”

My NCSL savings helped me purchased wellness products with JM Ocean Avenue

“Saving with NCSL has greatly assisted me and now I am a

proud member of NCSL for I have purchased wellness products

under a Multi Level Marketing (MLM) company called JM

Ocean Avenue.” said Ben George.

“I started saving with NCSL after I learnt from my partner that

her savings with NCSL was receiving monthly interests and

that the loan interest rate was a very low 1% per month on the

reducing balance.”

“I obtained a loan every

month for my own

personal expenses and

because of the low 1% interest rate, I was able to repay the

previous loan and obtain another one in the new month.”

“Then when I learned the benefits of this MLM company, I

became serious with my savings and started increasing my

NCSL contributions fortnightly.”

“Through my NCSL savings, I purchased wellness products

and now I have shares with JM Ocean Avenue.”

“Through my savings with NCSL, I was able to assist with my

siblings’ school fees and stationery supplies as well as securing

a home.”

“Thank you NCSL for creating the avenue for members to save

for that immediate short term financial need.”

“As a word of encouragement to other members and non-

members, you will really see your savings mature with NCSL.”
