BackgroundBangladesh, like many transitional nations, is straddling the demographicand epidemiological transition.In a review of twenty-three developing countries, Bangladesh was foundto have the ninth highest rate of age-standardized mortality among theincluded countries due to chronic diseases, primarily cardiovasculardiseases and diabetes.Some 51% of deaths in Bangladesh are due to non-communicable diseasesand other chronic health conditions . 3. Bangladesh is facing a dual burden, with a huge load of infectiousdiseases and an increasing burden due to NCDs, which lead theGovernment to update the strategic plan to combat NCDs in thecountry.Unidirectional globalization and rapid unplanned urbanization serve asconduits for the promotion of unhealthy lifestyles and environmentalchanges. 4. These common risk factors give rise to intermediate risk factors such as raisedblood pressure, raised blood glucose, unfavourable lipid profiles, obesity andimpaired lung function.In turn, the intermediate risk factors predispose individuals to the "fatal four" -cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke), cancer, chronic respiratorydisease and diabetes. 5. NCDs have further burdened the already strained health system andinflict great cost on the society.Economic growth has a number of key determinants and precursors, ofwhich health is a significant field.In developing countries like Bangladesh, NCDs have historically notreceived adequate attention from policy makers, developmentpartners, researchers and academicians 6. Healthy food habit 7. Bad Dietary habit 8. Unhealthy Food Habit 9. National Institute of Cardiovascular diseases & Hospital National Centre for control of RF , RHD & NCD 10. The framework for health promotion targeted at1. Building healthy public policies,2. Creating supportive environments for health,3. Strengthening community actions,4. Capacity building,5. Orienting health services according to people's need,6. Advocacy and community empowerment for prevention ofNCDs and7. Promotion of healthy lifestyle. 11. Community ClinicWith a view to serve the people with medical services Bangladeshgovernment start a project of medical services for the rural peoplespecially who lives in villages. govt. associates planned forestablishing 18000 community clinics thus every 6000 people couldget one-step services at the near place.Already 13500 community clinics have been completed and the restwill be completed soon. Specially the pregnant Women get somespecial service by this community clinic. Now they dont need to visitSadar hospitals far away from the villages. And they get almost everymedical service as they need. It protects the people from any kind ofaccidental case due to late. Eventually it grows social awareness ofvillage people about health. 12. It has some other services too. Like integrated management ofchildhood illness, reproductive health and family planning services,Health and family planning education and counseling, maternal &neonatal health care services, nutritional education & micro-nutrientsupplements, identification of other severe illness like TB, Malaria,Pneumonia, Influenza, Obstetric emergencies and refer to higherfacilities, Identification of emerging and re-emerging diseases & refer tohigher facilities, Treatment of minor ailments and Registration of newlymarried couple, pregnant women, birth and death, preservation fromEDD etc. Even some clinics conduct normal delivery case through SBA& CSBA. 13.
