MERSEYSIDE POLICE – HAULAGE YARD ROBBERY - CONVICTION

On Thursday 10th October 2019, notification received that Richard Joyce from Maghull was jailed for 5 years for his part in a Robbery of a Haulage Company in Knowsley, Merseyside

in March this year.

HGV CRIMES – ARRESTS / CONVICTIONS

NaVCIS Freightreceived notification that two men from the West Yorkshire area have

been arrested

The first man was arrested on 10/10/2019 having failed to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 24/05/19 for sentencing for a theft from

HGV offence in the Telford area in 2017

The second man was arrested on 16/10/19 for failing to appear at Burnley Crown Court on 25/04/19 for sentencing for an offence of HGV

related Kidnap on 05/01/2017. A warrant had been issued for his arrest. He had previously been sentenced to 5 years in his absence –

he has been handed an extra 6 months for failing to appear

CHESHIRE CONSTABULARY – LOGISTICS BURGLARY

NaVCIS Freight are working with colleagues at Cheshire Constabulary

On Saturday 19th October 2019, following a report of intruders at a warehouse premises containing high value goods at Appleton, Warrington – North West Motorway

Patrol Group (NWMPG), Air Support (NPAS) and a Police dog handler responded and three suspects were arrested.

Cheshire Police are investigating and enquiries are on going

ESSEX POLICE – THEFT FROM HGV – AUDIO EQUIPMENT NaVCIS Freight are working with colleagues at Essex Police

Overnight 28 / 29th October 2019, two pallets of specialist audio equipment was stolen from a HGV at Chelmsford, Essex – Police believe the female

pictured on CCTV (see picture) may have information that can assist enquiries.

CUMBRIA CONSTABULARY – A66 Thefts from HGVs

NaVCIS Freight are working with colleagues at Cumbria Constabulary

Between 2045hrs 09/10 and 0530hrs 10/10/2019 on A66 Appleby Bypass, a HGV had side curtain slashed, couple of

boxes opened and contents left on the side of the road (possibly disturbed).

There have been SIX HGV / Lorry offences in six weeks on the A66, Cumbria from 1st Sept to 10th Oct 2019

HGV “Jump Up” Thefts – Tobacco stolen in Transit

There have been TWO high value incidents on this road in the last two weeks.

A man was arrested in June 2019 for offences at this location following a series of similar offences
