Each year, our diocese offers two opportunities to receive grant money for various things that our parish might need.
This year we would like to thank the Seton Fund for providing a grant to help set up our room for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori-type program for ages 3-5 that
we will begin in the fall.
We would also like to thank the Northwest Florida Foundation, to which you are invited to contribute, for their very generous donation to our high school Conference Fund. If you
have contributed to the foundation in the past, thank you for making this possible!

Outstanding Students Achievements
*Carl Gindl graduated May 20 from Pensacola Catholic High School where he received the “The Chris
Gallman Sportsmanship Award” and the “Pro Deo et Patria Award”.
*Katy Luebke graduated from Tate High School and will begin her pre-med/biology education at
Florida State University in the fall. Katy has been an Altar Server at Nativity for 7 1/2 years.
*Augie Luebbers graduated from Pace High School May 27. He looks forward to joining the Catholic
Argos at UWF this fall and will be studying computer science. Augie recently earned the rank of
Eagle Scout; his volunteer service project included designing, constructing and installing benches around
a ring of fire for parishioners and UWF Catholic Argos to use. Thank you to the Ladies’ Society for
contributing to his project. Augie’s Eagle Court of Honor will be held July 15.
Tuesday night was terrific. Msgr. James Flaherty, our Diocesan Administrator (until a Bishop is named for our Diocese) was here with us for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation. We were blessed with 16 young parishioners receiving this Sacrament. The Lord is truly good to us. A special thanks to all their parents, Bill Mann, the Sacrament instructor, to Katie, our FF director and all who assisted in the preparation of the celebration of this Sacrament. Pics coming soon.

Father Dennis O’Brien, a former Parochial Vicar here at Nativity, will be with us next weekend on behalf of the St. James Society, a mission extension of the Church, to take up a collection for the poor of Ecuador where he has been ministering for the past few years. Father Dennis asked if we would be open to him coming and pleading on behalf of the Society. We welcome Father Dennis back to Nativity of Our Lord. Interestingly, he will also be returning to our Diocese in the Fall to return to ministry within our Diocese.

Our parking lot and future Narthex are coming along as scheduled. Rain is really one of the major causes of delay. Thank-fully, that hasn’t happened as of this writing and I think most of us know that in this area we do need rain (night time only, though!!!!). I continue to ask that during the week, for weekend Mass, please park in the area behind the Parish Hall or in front of the entrance to the Office-Educational Building. There are some who are still not cooperating with this request and one morning this past week the workers actually had to stop work until people moved their cars. Please. Please. Please.

I am giving serious thought to replacing the present missalette/hymnal with a different version. While we will be keeping the same company, the new Liturgy aid will have both books (the 2 we use now) in one larger edition, and good for an entire year. No more replacing Missalettes seasonally. That makes it easier for those who commit their time to changing out the books throughout the year. I hope this meets our expectations and we can evaluate this change at the end of 2018.

There is an insert this week explaining the “Bishop’s Charity Gala” to be held on Friday, June 30th. I have included a double sided information sheet in this bulletin. Nativity is contributing to this fund raiser and perhaps many of you are able to as well.
