PROGRAM 1 INDEPENDENCE DAY 15.08.2017
Independence Day was celebrated with great sense of pride and jubilation on the 15th
of August, 2017. Dr G L Easwara Prasad, Principal, MITE hoisted the National Flag
and all the assembled MITEans saluted the flag as a sign of respect. People sang the
National Anthem and the assembly disbursed after distribution of sweets. The
Principal reminded the audience about the great sacrifice done by Gandhiji and other
freedom fighters and told the audience to walk on Gandhi path.
After the flag hoisting ceremony, as is the annual custom, a group pf volunteers
headed by the Principal visited Vijetha Special school, Karkala to spend some time
with children there. Groceries worth Rs. 44,110 /-, and four Storage cupboards
costing Rs. 27200 /- were donated to the School.
A cultural programme was also organized by MITE students to entertain the inmates
of the Vijetha Special School.

PROGRAM 2 SADHBHAVANA DIVAS 19.08.2017
Under the NSS chapter, MITE, on the 19th of August 2017 the “SADBHAVANA
DAY PLEDGE” was administered to over 150 students. Sadhbhavana Divas is a
National day to joins hands together to pledge towards harmony and a feeling of
oneness within the society. Individual departments also observed this day in their
own class rooms and all the students took the Sadhbhavana divas pledge.
The Sadbhavana day pledge was as follows: “I take this solemn pledge that I will
work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of
caste, region, religion or language. I further pledge that I shall resolve all differences
among us through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence”

PROGRAM 3 TEACHERS’ DAY 05.09.2017
Teachers’ Day was celebrated on the morning of 5.9.2017 in campus to
commemorate the birth anniversary of the reatest Teacer of all ties – Dr S
Radhakrishnan. Principal, and all the the faculty members assembled at the
main entrance. Offered flowers to his photo and paid respects to Dr.
Radhakrishnan. The Principal spoke on the occasion highlighting the role of
teaching profession in the society. Students from individual departments
conducted small programs to show their respects to their teachers.

PROGRAM 4 ENGINEERS’ DAY 15.09.2017
On 15. 09.2017 Engineers’ day was celebrated by the faculty and students of
MITE. The program started with welcome address by the Dean Academics
followed by a talk by the Principal on the occasion. He highlighted the great
contributions of Sir M. Visvesvaraya to the Nation and how his life is worth
emulating. Faculty and staff of MITE offered flowers to the photo of Sir
Visvesvaraya and paid their respects to him.

PROGRAM 5 REPUBLIC DAY 26.01.2018
On the occasion of Republic day on 26.1.2018, faculty and students of MITE
assembled in the quadrangle to celebrate the day. The Principal Dr G L Easwara
Prasad hoisted the National Flag and spoke about the Constitution and the
Duties and responsibilities of each and every citizen. He also highlighted the
struggle put in by our
ancestors to get freedom
and form a Republic of our
own. He advised the
students to value duties
and responsibilities more
than rights and privileges.

anthem.

PROGRAM 6 WOMEN’S DAY 08.03.201
The event was initiated with the welcome talk and introduction of the speaker
by K. Varsha, general secretary of IEEE MITE Student Branch. This was followed
by an introduction address by Mrs. Savitha Chowta, Vice-Chairman of MITE. She
mainly focused on why it is necessary to celebrate women’s day. She also
mentioned the roles that are played by women in the society. This was followed
by a talk on Women Empowerment by the speaker Mrs. Rajina Dinesh, faculty,
MC and Soft Skills Trainer at St. Aloysious College, Mangalore. She focused on
the achievements made by women in various fields. She also expressed her
views on gender bias in the workplace. She also kept the crowd engaged by
giving them a small activity by conducting a psychological test on gender bias
through a quiz. At the end of her talk she presented two videos that shed light
on one showing the growth of the women through years in the society and
upheld the principles of gender equality. After the talk the Vice-Principal, Dr.
C.R.Rajashekhar addressed the gathering and expressed his views on the day’s
significance. After the Vice-Principal’s address as a gesture of appreciation a
memento was presented to the speaker of the day Mrs.Rajina Dinesh.At the end
a welcome note was presented by Ms. Dhanyashree Dinesh.

PROGRAM 7 VANA MAHOTSAV 12.06.2018
Vana Mahotsav is a festival started by Kulapati Dr. K.M. Munshi, the Union
Minister for Agriculture and Food to create enthusiasm among masses about
forest conservation and planting trees. It is now a week-long festival, celebrated
on different days in different parts of India.
ECO CLUB organized the Van Mahotsav on 12th June, 2018 at Adarsha High
School, Taccode. Different varieties of saplings were taken to the school and
were planted. The school management, all the faculty members along with the
students joined hands in the program

From ECO CLUB, 23 members were present and actively took participation in
the programme. Prof. Jayadev Prasad, HOD department of MBA, Prof. Ajith
DMello, Coordinator, ECO CLUB, Dr. Jayashri Shetty and Prof. K Abhaya Kumar
were present and took active part in the great event.
