Day 1 Salt Lake City, UT: Upon arrival at Salt Lake City International Airport, check into your hotel and then join your Tour Director and fellow travelers for a Welcome Reception.
Day 2 Montpelier, ID/Jackson, WY: Trace the footsteps of the pioneers at the Oregon Trail Center in Montpelier, then enjoy lunch in a covered wagon themed restaurant. Cross into Wyoming on your way to scenic Jackson and the icy peaks of the Grand Tetons. Get spectacular 360-degree views of the Snake River Valley and Grand Teton National Park on an exciting aerial tram ride to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain.
Day 3Grand Teton National Park, WY: In the morning, join an optional guided float trip down the Snake River or spend the day sightseeing in magnificent Grand Teton National Park. Watch for abundant wildlife, including moose, elk, bison and bald eagles. In the evening, sit down to a Chuckwagon regional dinner.
Day 4Yellowstone National Park, WY: Travel to Yellowstone, the world’s first National Park. Gaze in awe at Old Faithful, followed by a guided walk with a Local Specialist among the spouting geysers and bubbling mudpots. Enjoy a two-night stay inside the park, where each lodge has its own unique setting and atmosphere.
Day 5Yellowstone National Park, WY: Look out for stunning waterfalls on your way to the ruggedly beautiful Dunraven Pass and the Lamar Valley. At Mammoth Hot Springs, stroll the mineral terraces that resemble frozen waterfalls.
Day 6Cody, WY: Head for Cody for a glimpse of American West history at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Meet a Local Specialist and delve into the life of a cowboy and the culture and art of the Plains Indians before enjoying a true Western style dinner at a historic cafe.
Day 7Deadwood/Rapid City, SD: View Devil’s Tower, America’s first national monument, then journey into the Black Hills to Deadwood, where you’ll explore this once lawless town. Continue to Rapid City, with the option to visit Mt. Rushmore in the evening to see the illumination ceremony.
Day 8Black Hills, SD: Drive through the stunning scenery of the Black Hills while visiting the Crazy Horse Memorial and Mt. Rushmore. Later, gather for a festive Farewell Dinner featuring Stephen Yellowhawk, who shares his tribe’s history through dance and song.
Day 9Rapid City: Transfer to Rapid City Airport and depart for home.
