About the Institute

Bheemanna Khandre Institute of Technology (formerly known as Rural Engineering College),

Bhalki, in Bidar district was established in the year 1982, the institute is approved by AICTE New

Delhi, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University,(VTU) Belgaum, accredited by NBA, New

Delhi, the Institute is located at the northern tip of Karnataka, is one of the best engineering

colleges in Karnataka with a lush green campus of 35 Acres, built up area 50000 Sq.mtr. offering 5

Bachelor and 5 Master Programmes. The Institute has got three boy’s hostels accommodating 700

boys and two girl’s hostel accommodating 350 girls. In 32 years of its existence over 7800 graduates

have emerged from the portal of BKIT Bhalki. The College has dedicated and experienced staff as

per AICTE norms, well equipped laboratories, extensive and exhaustive library having collection of

60000 volumes and 269 Journals and 222 E-Journals.

About the Department

The department of E&CE was established in the year 1982, the current intake is 180.

It has an excellent infrastructure well equipped advanced Laboratories and research

facilities, the department has well qualified ,passionate, dedicated, experienced and research

oriented faculty members with different specializations, from IIT’s and NIIT’s. The

department attracts the best students from all parts of India. Many research papers have

been published by faculties in leading journals and conferences both India and abroad. The

department has organized International conference and several AICTE/ISTE sponsored

National level workshops, summer schools, winter schools and guest lectures.

About the Conference

National conference on “RECENT ADVANCES IN SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY-

NCST2014” in the changing scenario, offers a unique forum for wide audience of

academicians, research scholars and industrial professionals from all over the India to

present their research results and developments. It also provides a platform for the

researchers to discuss future challenges & opportunities in various disciplines of Science and

Technology, engage participants in fruitful debate & facilitate mutual exchange of their

expertise.
