In this letter it stated that the State of Nevada would not recognize NASCO’s current lifeguard training program due to the utilization of the In the Water Intervention or, IWI protocol. The letter went on to say that if this IWI protocol is removed from our Nevada specific materials and not taught to our client’s facilities in Nevada, then the NASCO Lifeguard Certification course would be re-instated and can continue to be utilized in Nevada. I spoke with Dr. Ishan Azzam with the State of Nevada Health Department and he said that if we sent a letter stating our intentions of removing the IWI from our Nevada Specific materials then we will continue to be recognized by the State of Nevada. This letter is to formally state that the National Aquatic Safety Company (NASCO) will comply with this requirement immediately; so that the facility utilizing our Lifeguard Certification course will be able to continue its normal operational activities without interruption. The modifications to the NASCO Materials that are Specific to Nevada will no longer require the teaching or performing of the IWI protocol as a technique to initiate the respiration process while in the water. The revised materials will be sent to our Nevada facility within three days. I hope that this addresses the concerns of the Department of Health and Human Services of Nevada If there are any questions, please let me know, I will be happy to answer them. I can be reached at [email protected]. Sincerely, Eric “Chet” Jacobson Sr. Vice President & Chief Operating Officer The National Aquatic Safety Company
