Scores Spring-High 427.00 Points; Azusa Pacific (Calif.) Retains Lead in First Spring NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings; Golden State Athletic Conference Places Three in Top 10 CLEVELAND  Azusa Pacific (Calif.) is once again atop the NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings following the first set of spring championships. The Cougars most recently finished third in women’s tennis, fifth in both men’s tennis and women’s track & field, 13 th in men’s track & field and 18 th  in softball to increase their point total to 1020.75. Shorter (Ga.) has moved into second place with 741.00 total points. The Hawks turned in a spring-high 427.00 points after placing first in men’s track & field, third in both women’s golf and women’s track & field, seventh in softball, ninth in men’s tennis and 20 th in men’s golf. In third place with 711.75 total points is Lindenwood (Mo.). The Lions finished sev enth in women’s track & field, ninth in men’s track & field, 17 th in women’s golf and 21 st in men’s golf. Jumping from 19 th place to fourth as a result of their performance in the most recent championships is Embry Riddle Aeronautical (Fla.) with 699.25 points. The Eagles placed second in both women’s golf and men’s tennis, third in women’s tennis, eighth in women’s track & field and 11 th in men’s track & field. Fresno Pacific (Calif.) rounds out the top five with 669.75 points. The Sunbirds added to their previous point total by winning the men’s tennis national championship, while also finishing second in women’s tennis, sixth in men’s track & field and 52 nd in women’s track & field. The Golden State Athletic Conference remains atop the conference standings, with three of its member institutions in the top 10 (Azusa Pacific (Calif.) - first; Fresno Pacific (Calif.) - fifth; California Baptist – eighth). Seven spring NAIA championships have been completed to date with the following institutions capturing titles: women’s golf – California Baptist; men’s golf – Oklahoma Christian; softball – Oregon Tech; women’s tennis – Auburn Montgomery (Ala.); men’s tennis – Fresno Pacific (Calif.); women’s track & field – Concordia (Ore.); men’s track & field – Shorter (Ga.). The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today . Points are awa rded base d on each institution's finish in up to 12 sports -- six women’s and six men’s. The final NAIA standings will be released Friday, June 17 in conjunction with the NACDA Convention and Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Luncheon presented by the USOC. Please note, standings published midseason are unofficial . Official standings will be publ ished upon the completion of the spring season. Standings; Golden State Athletic Conference Places Three in Top 10

CLEVELAND –  Azusa Pacific (Calif.) is once again atop the NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cupstandings following the first set of spring championships. The Cougars most recently finished third inwomen’s tennis, fifth in both men’s tennis and women’s track & field, 13th in men’s track & field and 18th in softball to increase their point total to 1020.75.

Shorter (Ga.) has moved into second place with 741.00 total points. The Hawks turned in a spring-high427.00 points after placing first in men’s track & field, third in both women’s golf and women’s track &field, seventh in softball, ninth in men’s tennis and 20th in men’s golf.
