June 21, 2021 Dear NYAIAI Member & Guests: On behalf of the New York Association of Independent Adjusters, Inc., we would like to invite you to our 80th Annual Convention to be held at the Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls, NY on September 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th, 2021. The Queensbury Hotel opened in 1926, and was built by the Glens Falls Hotel Corp. Inc. The five-story building was intended to be Glens Falls' centerpiece hotel. According to local historians, the hotel is named after the British Queen Charlotte. The 1762 grant of the parcel of land that is now Glens Falls was named after her and other theories about the name are that "Queensbury" sounded elegant and that the English-sounding name had a broad regional appeal.

The hotel attracted big names in entertainment, including Benny Goodman and Guy Lombardo. These stars would give performances in the hotel's ballroom, which served as a popular venue for such acts until the Glens Falls Civic Center opened in 1979. Celebrities who have stayed at the hotel over the years include Mike Tyson, Louis Armstrong, Bob Dylan, Kenny Rogers, Bob Hope, Ozzy Osbourne, Kenny Anderson, and Ronald Reagan. Robert F. Kennedy famously visited The Queensbury in 1964 after being elected to the U.S. Sen-ate.

On Thursday, September 23rd, Convention Registration will begin at 2:00 pm and at 6:00 we will be having a Welcome Reception in the beautiful Hotel Lobby with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and piano music. The Hospitality Suite will be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening in the Champlain Room. On Friday, September 24th, we will begin with our Liaison Meeting followed by the Golf Event at the Kingsbury National Golf Club. The non-golfers will be attending a scenic chair lift ride and lunch. Friday evening, we will be having a cocktail reception in the Gold Room followed by dinner in the Ballroom.

Saturday, September 25th we begin with our General Membership meeting followed by a round table discussion. Education Sessions will be held featuring both a casualty and property session, for a total of 3 Educational Credits. Our esteemed speakers are Lewis R. Silverman, Attorney at Law from Silverman & Associates, NY, who will be presenting on “Spectator Liability & Premises Liability” and Raymond Shelton, PhD., F.A.A.E.T.S, Director of Professional Development, National Center for Crisis Management, our Keynote Speaker, presenting on “Stress Management”. Saturday afternoon we will be on our own to take advantage of beautiful Glens Falls, the Adirondack Hot Air Balloon Festival or the nearby Lake George’s Americade Motorcycle Rally. Saturday evening our cocktail party will be held at the Hotel Lobby and dinner to follow at the Adirondack Room. 2021 Adirondack Balloon Festival

September 23 - 26, 2021The Adirondack Balloon Festival is one of the highlights of fall in Upstate New York. A delight to

visitors, passersby, and locals alike, the Adirondack Balloon Festival takes place the weekend of

September 23 - 26, 2021 in Glens Falls and Queensbury, NY - bringing fun for all ages!

The balloon festival features the launch of dozens of balloons, all brightly colored, and many in fun

and special shapes. Visitors can walk inside half-inflated balloons, watch riders prepare for the

flight, and see the exceptional sight of air balloons taking off from the ground nearby, one after

another, and floating into the sky.
