MYS Orchestras to perform National Anthem

Minnesota Twins Baseball Game Tuesday, April 18, 2017

Game time: 7:10pm, Performance time: 7:00pm Students in all MYS orchestras are invited participate! Manny Laureano will be conducting. We hope everyone will be able to share in this exciting event. Before you make a commitment to play in this event, please review the following requirements:

1) You must have the music memorized (no music stands allowed) 2) You must be able to play standing up (no chairs are allowed) 3) You must be able to rehearse with the combined orchestra on Saturday, April 15 from 11:40-noon in the Jr. High

Cafeteria and at the stadium at 5pm on April 18. 4) You must purchase a ticket for the game.

Music: Each orchestra will be rehearsing the National Anthem during the 3rd trimester to help you prepare. Ticket information: Tickets are required for students performing, family and friends. The entire seating of sections 325 & 326 has been reserved for MYS (see seating map on back of this flyer). Tickets must be purchased through MYS. Visit the MYS website for a link to register and buy tickets, or fill out the form below. If you have any questions, or if purchasing a ticket is a hardship, please call the MYS Office at 651-699-5811. Dress code: Students should wear their MYS baseball t-shirt (if you have one), or a white top. Black/navy slacks or dark, “neat” jeans. Please wear closed-toe, comfortable shoes (you will have to move very quickly on and off the field!) Instrument storage during the game: There will be a secure storage area for students to leave cases/instruments (with the option to store them there until the end of the game) Rain out policy: If the game gets rained out, unlikely, we would be able to perform at the make-up game. If a full compliment of instruments cannot perform for the make-up game, we would not perform. All tickets transfer to the make-up game.

How to Register: • The registration and ticket-purchasing deadline is Saturday, March 4. Go to the MYS website at

mnyouthsymphonies.org and click on the Twins Game sign-up link (located on the homepage under Announcements), or fill out the registration form below, and return to the MYS Admin Desk or mail to 790 Cleveland Ave S, Suite 203, St. Paul, MN 55116. Checks or credit cards accepted (checks payable to “MYS”).

• In addition to the ticket purchased for each student performing, you may purchase as many additional tickets as you like for family members and friends. Specific seat selection is not available in this reserved section, and all seating will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets ordered in one transaction will be grouped together in consecutive seats. Pre-ordered tickets will be available to pick up at rehearsal on Saturday, April 8.
