BANJARA: THE FEST
College fest……… WOW………..
That wow factor makes us more enthusiastic to prove our self. We got an opportunity to leave the footprints in the Foot-Steps 2012, We launched our first collection, “The Banjara Collection”. The journey of 1st semester proved much more interesting due to this event, where we worked round the clock to give look to our collection and give shape to our works. Throughout the preparations we were moulded in such a way that we should never have to commit all such mistakes again. I admit we were not perfect, nor collection was highly professional but at last we were happy because we at least tried and yes it was good enough for audience and so for us.....
The pure heart and pure minds of the department made the people happy. That was the first step towards success…….. and so we did it……… this is what we were………….
Visit of Honourable UPA Chief
and M.P Madam. Sonia Gandhi.
It was a remarkable experience when Mrs. Sonia Gandhi visited our college. It was the class as whole. It was a great thing for us to display our talent in front of one of the most powerful woman of the World. We worked day and night throughout a week to give our best. As it was the first major task and it being our first year we didn’t have much old stocks. It was a challenge for us to prove our creativity and we did it. We displayed many of our art and craft works which proved to be centre of attraction for whole college and our Honourable Guest Madam. Gandhi spent her valuable time to explore and appreciate our works.
Her appreciation built lot of self confidence in us which lead us to work to achieve something more. Our journey continues…………..
Our First Seminar
The first seminar Organised in the Department. What an expectation? What a Guest? We really had one of the best Seminars by the famous Designer Mr.Tim Mendonsa. Who has designed for many celebrities like Madona, Hillary Clinton and others. His words of caution, wisdom and motivation made us to feel more competitive. “Don’t think of a pleasant a life at your beginning stage if you want to be a successful designer”, was the statement of Mr.Mendonsa. Yes. He was living example for it, who shared his life history with the students of FDDI. This seminar was very useful for all the designing students and we learnt how to build a portfolio.
Industrial Visit
A visit to industry in JUST
one semester! Wow! Wow! We
were taken to the Weaving
Industry located in Varanasi.
We were exposed to handlooms
weaving, dyeing and printing.
What we learned there it is
unforgettable. It was a great
time visiting industry, meeting
different people of industry
and knowing their jobs.
It was an infotainment event
Women’s day celebration
Apart from being students of fashion design, we people are much liberally interested in making others a part of our happiness, our celebration. So we find it as our duty and utmost responsibility to give respect to the women. So in this context, the department organised a wonderful activities event, for the whole college where we made them play, laugh, sing, run and enjoy as much as was possible. It was just the small contribution to add a little fun filled awareness around.
We together enjoyed the balloon bursting, antakshri and many other things, at last as a token of love from our side we presented a Brochures to all the female faculties and senior faculties, which was made by the student of FD only. We always want to make things possible by doing our bit and will continue in the same way………..
Raymond India in FDDI
Fursatganj
The second seminar organized by the department. Same excitement, same expectation but in a little more sense, Mr.Raja Amitabh The Design Head of Raymond’s Ever Blue Apparels along with his team made their presence and delivered a seminar on Industrial Process of Designing and encouraged the student to be daring to face the competitive world.
It was again a very informative seminar, which gave us information on the industrial attitude and what industry expects from the Fresher’s. Our Journey still continues…………
FASHION SHOW-FASHIONOVA
We think and we plan, we plan and we work and then a time comes when we put everything in our best action to achieve the set target or goal.
As the time passes, we are trained with something more in fashion and by the God’s grace an opportunity came when we met the Head-Designer of RAYMONDS and his team. It felt as if a new born bird already been god gifted how to fly, as soon you open your eyes. Again it proved to be challenging to prove our self the best amongst the rest. The students really worked hard and chosen laborious techniques and works to make their collection best and to make their team won. In that project,
Some group tried to show the influence of chatting and social networking sites.
Some tried their level best and made best possible inspiration from birds, i.e.; Brotherhood.
While, some went into deep detailing of insects and flies and created such an excellent structured designs and
At some place students tried to connect the public to the
Astro-numerology……..
Even for the first time here we dealt with smart textiles that are wearable electronics.
The work was much appreciated by the Raymond’s people and other guest. It was a real reward for us and this inspired our dream more.
Photography Exhibition
We had our Photography Module, where we learnt about photography especially product photography, portfolio, outdoor photography, macro and light painting. It was a pleasant task to organize the photography and art exhibition. We changed, our way of looking and clicking of things changed. Mr.Nitin a famous photographer taught us how to focus and click without mistakes. The photography and art exhibition was a way to express our creativity and memories through the pictures. We enjoyed it. Our Journey still continues ………………….
