Springer Residence
In keeping with the design of Alexis and Cory Springer’s newly purchased 1910 Arts & Crafts style home, I designed the kitchen to be the center of the house. The kitchen in this home is open and inviting. It focuses on family integration and allows the concept of family togetherness to sustain it’s atmosphere. Materials and finishes used in this project represent the craftsman bungalow era with a modern twist. Amenities include bar/island seating with workstation, separate butlers pantry with storage, warming drawer, auxiliary sink, enclosed laundry area, and wine cellar.

Natures Retreat Salon & Spa
Natures Retreat Salon and Spa is a small, quiet refuge that caters to an upscale clientele. For the remodel of their existing space, they wanted to maintain the upbeat, contemporary, high class feel to their spa environment. This project focused mainly on the design of the lighting layout for the main entry and retail areas. As well as selections of new materials and furnishings. To complete the clients goals, I provided them with a complete layered lighting system in all areas. I combined decorative lighting features with functional ambient and general lighting aspects. I chose colors and finishes that created a relaxing, yet high class feel. I chose blues, greens and neutral tones combined with soft dark light woods and glass features.

Creative Records Luxury Sky BoxCreative Records is one of the most successful recording companies of its genre in the nation. I assisted them in the design of their newly purchased luxury sky box at the new Target Stadium. The design goals of Creative Records Inc., were to portray an aurora of success to its users and provide a direct correlation to the company and its assets. Guests feel smart, polished and lavish while being entertained in this space. Design elements include cool, shiny, sleek materials such as glass and stainless steel tiles, and wood accents. I used an array of stainless steel and leather finishes in different textures. To create a polished look, I incorporated a variety of earthy, bold and glamorous colors in the tones of red, taupe, silver, and hints of browns, blacks, and crèmes.

For this project, I assisted them with the complete renovation of their new space in an office building downtown. Wesley Sullivan wanted to create and maintain their image of style and professionalism. They are a bold, innovative and highly energetic company and wanted these characteristics to be portrayed throughout their new space. To create this I used a variety of stimulating and modern colors and finishes throughout the space.

The Rock
The Rock is a young church located in Uptown, Minneapolis. Relocating from their existing space located inside an elementary school auditorium, we moved this facility to a brand new 12,000 sq. ft. space. The client was mainly concerned with maintaining an urban night life feel. Combining faith, community and growth are the intent of the design goals for this project. I used materials and finishes that catered to an urban city night life feel. The main goal was to focus on reaching a youthful and spirited crowd and bring them together in a modern community.

Combined with my design education, I also gained experience working in a design firm. Since the summer of 2006, I have worked as the executive design assistant for imagecowboys. I have had the opportunity to assist in many design related projects. I gained experience working in many different aspects of the design industry. Some examples are: working with various kinds of furniture, materials and finishes; technological advancement in programs such as Auto-Cad and Google Sketch-up; working in a team environment and creating contacts with other members of the design industry; and finally, the direct application of the interior design process.
