My Clean India uses Appreciative Inquiry which focuses on the community's achievements. It acknowledges and inspires into action.

Progressive Inquiry is an opportunity for leadership

Opportunities for community interaction by schoolsUndertake surveys of community issues and possible solutions. Promote community-signed agreements and oaths to keep areas clean.
Awareness building with banners, competitions etc. about the environment
Elect street marshals (supervisors) for cleanliness and reporting.
Promote Cleanest Street awards (with sponsorship).
Use Acknowledgement Certificates for people that make a difference.
Promote the sponsorship (eg. by hotels) of litter bins.Create media releases such as about school surveys, studies and awards & prizes.

Talk with the schools Enrol (talk with) the schools & encourage a
teacher and one or more students to be Facilitators /representatives.
Create a School’s Committee from schools representatives and elect an Area Representative .
Plan for action eg. a Progressive Inquiry, annual cleanup day in September etc. (eg. join Clean Up the World).

Each school may elect a teacher as School Facilitator plus one or two students.
