What does My Card do?

A swipe with My Card through existing facilities will process a rebate and distribute it automatically to the

cardholder, the local beneficiary and to cover necessary administration costs

In store process

Each business takes 100% of the transaction total and then swipes the card.

The rebates are credited onto the cardholders My Card prepayment account.

Flexibility

Each business will have its own website accounts where offers are entered; this information instantly

activates the offer on the swipe terminal.

Offer rebates across all items. Rebates on over-average transactions i.e. 5% over

£25 and 10% over £50. Special promotions on specific days. Happy hour rebates to encourage shopping in quiet

periods or evenings. Cards can also be used in any machine that

supports MasterCard or Visa.

Reporting facility

Each business can see how the scheme is working for them with online reporting.

This reports; How many My Card transactions have taken place. How much rebates has been refunded and how

much sales have increased. Current average transaction. Customer activity such as partial postcode of

cardholder.

This feature allows the business to continually change their offers to suit their needs.

Beneficiaries

We plan to have locally nominated beneficiaries that are recommended by the local partners. For example;

A local charity.

Local non profit organisation.

Local school.

Local event such as Christmas lights etc.

Future Developments

My Card anticipates new technological innovations in payments and how payments are made so has future proofed its current

Platform to be able to react quickly to innovation. Such as:

Contactless payment – PDQ readers replaced by Near Field Communication devices

Smart phone applications using Near Field Communication devices

A non payment card/phone application that will appeal to start up and micro businesses

My Card platform that integrates into other pre-payment, loyalty and membership offers, such as Transport & Leisure
