The Hardest Part – Nina Nesbitt
Annabel Street
• Indie music videos can often be very simplistic to follow the idea that they don’t care about big productions and luxuries, they are making music themselves that they genuinely care about.
• An example of this is Nina Nesbitt’s video for her song The Hardest Part.
• The video opens with a close up shot of her face, although, she is unconventionally looking away from the camera. This makes it seem as though she is deep in thought and as if we are looking at her without her knowing, getting an insight into her feelings.
• We are also able to see her nicely styled hair and make-up, she looks pretty, giving the audience someone to aspire to look like.
• We then see her playing the guitar, which is conventional of the genre and again follows the idea that she creates her own music that she is passionate about.
• The black and white picture adds to the simplicity of the video, along with the lack of locations.
