Who’s the Audience? How are they attracted? My magazine had 2 target audiences,

the younger audience is 15-20 and the

older one was 45-50. This target audience has changed as I have

created my magazine, the younger audience is still 15-20 however my

older audience is now 40-45.

My younger target audience was attracted

with the use of a young female star, as she

would be a similar age to the target audience

therefore she is relatable. The use of the free download and social media links

alsoattracts a younger target audience as

teensare well known for always being on

there phones. My older target audience is attracted through the use of the darker colours

like the deep red background.

Who’s the Audience? How are they attracted? My initial target audience for my

magazine was for both male and female

audiences to be attracted to it and want to buy

the magazine. However upon further research after making my

magazine I have realised that there are not many things that would

attract a male audience.

There may be an attraction for the male audience through the use of my model

who looks rather seductive creating male gaze as suggested by Laura Mulvey. The use of this female artist will also attract a female audience however as girls will feel

as though they can relate to the girl on the front cover. I also included a male artist in the cover lines of my music

magazine in the hope this would also attract a male audience.

How are they attracted?Who’s the Audience?

My music magazine encourages social events such as festivals, this will attract the younger audience of 15-20. However it will attract

some people older than 15, most likely 18 as at festivals you tend to be drinking and the legal age for

drinking is 18.

Festivals are for the younger generation and would not appeal to an older age group such as 40-45, it also excludes the ages of 15-17 as you cannot legally drink at this age

and there is a lot of drinking at festivals.

Who’s the Audience? How are they attracted?

My magazine is targeted towards a middle class group, with an older target audience and a

younger one. I feel that I have attracted the older audience

particularly well with the layout and the wording of my

magazine.

The magazine is not worded particularly informal or formal,

however there is no swearing in my magazine as this would most likely

be unattractive to an older generation. The layout would

appeal to an older person due to the beige colours and the deep red, these colours are not bright which would be something to attract an

older target audience.

Who’s the Audience? How are they attracted?

My magazine targets my older and my younger target

audience well through the use of the pricing which also

attracts a middle class audience and through the fact it is a

monthly magazine.

My magazine has a higher price as it is a monthly magazine

meaning there are more pages and information inside. This

attracts a middle class audience as they need to have slightly more money to buy it and if

you're older you tend to have more money due to going out to

work. However if you’re younger you have less money and i have dealt with this by

making it a monthly magazine so they can spare the change.
