Microsoft WordIn planning my music magazine I have used Microsoft Word extensively to plan things such as the copy of my double page spread, the draft of my DPS, and so on. Before I had begun planning for my music magazine I already had quite a bit of experience with this software through schoolwork but I have learnt to feel confident with my use of it and develop the ways in which I am able to use it e.g. for visual use as well as literary use.
PowerPointI had used PowerPoint quite frequently beforehand and thus felt quite confident with my experience in the software. I had used this software in order to produce a PowerPoint analysing front covers of different magazines. I believe my use of this proved effective as I was able to produce a presentation which appeared rather professional
PreziBefore the planning of my music magazine I had no prior experience with this software and this proved slightly difficult when constructing my first presentation. However, with the aid of tutorials found on their website ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8Yu_qp9FFo ) and some practice, I was able to create three presentations researching into artists and bands that I could use as inspiration for my music magazine.
PhotoshopI had some experience with Photoshop before from using it in GCSE Media Studies but not to a great degree. However, since then my knowledge of this software has developed dramatically and this has aided me in constructing an effective front cover and contents page for my music magazine. The many skills I have learnt include: adding and managing multiple layers, experimenting with different fonts and font colours & adding different shapes.
InDesignBefore the construction of my music magazine I had no prior knowledge of how exactly to use InDesign but gradually I have developed and learnt the skills necessary to construct an effective double page spread for my music magazine. Some examples of the skills I have learnt include: organising my text into columns, changing the colour of text & creating shapes.
