Health and Safety

MEM Lesson 5

Page 44: Music Event Management. In this unit you will: Work as team to create and promote a series of live music events; both real and hypothetical Learn about.

Music Venues and PLIMusic Venues are required to carry Public Liability Insurance (PLI) to cover costs of any injury to members of the public whilst at the venue. Cover is usually between 1 and 5 million pounds

• Bespoke document covering what a venue does and what’s in and around it- i.e. equipment, stage exits car parks etc.)

• By having PLI music venues do not need a health and safety plan!

• A health and safety plan only becomes necessary if the venue changes in any way or brings in special equipment e.g. pyrotechnics

Page 45: Music Event Management. In this unit you will: Work as team to create and promote a series of live music events; both real and hypothetical Learn about.

If you are promoting an event such as a festival in an open space then you will need to create a health and safety plan
