Transcript of MUNDARING PRIMARY SCHOOL TERM 4 2017 PLANNER WED …€¦ · Year 6 students as a Graduation...
CELEBRATING SUCCESS! Congratulations to Mrs Reif-Eaves and our magnificent Senior Choir for their amazing performance at the WAGSMS Concert on Wednesday 30th August. Once again our students brought the house down as they sang to an audience of over two thousand parents and friends at the Crown Theatre as part of the Western Australian Government Schools Music Society (WAGSMS) concert series. The boys and girls in the choir sang beautifully and as you can see from the photo below, they looked the part too.
Congratulations also to Miss Lorantas and her amazing group of students who presented at the WACSSO Conference on Saturday 19th August.
This small group of students presented a report on their outstanding work completed in our Learning Studio as part of the schools STEM program. They spoke with much knowledge and passion on topics ranging from making 3D cookie cutters to solving some of UNICEF’s largest challenges in the Global Goals challenge. Parents representing P&Cs affiliated with the WA Council Of State School Organisations (WACSSO) were treated to an outstanding presentation while the kids got to sit at the TOP table!
The term concluded with a terrific Athletics Carnival and Edu-Dance concert, both of which showcased the variety of talents on show at the school. Photos from these events will be posted to the school website early in Term 4.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL . . .
Hello Parents and Caregivers and welcome as we transition to another term in what has proven to be an extremely fast paced and busy year. Term Three seemed to fly by with many new students and their families joining us, programs such as Edu-Dance, WAGSMS, Cross Country and School Athletics whizzing by in a flash. If you had time to blink, I’m sure you would have missed them! The new term is of course looking like being just as busy, with events such as Sculpture in the School, In-term Swimming, Yr 6 Graduation and our inaugural Carols by Candlelight concert to name just a few. Well done to the students of Room 14 on the wonderful ‘Horredy’ (Horror/Comedy). The comedy tour that went horribly wrong was well presented by all the students and Miss Lorantas at their Week 9 Assembly.

EMERGENCY MESSAGING SYSTEM / BUSHFIRE SAFETY As we once again enter the bushfire season, parents are reminded of the need to be aware of the school’s Emergency Messaging system and procedures we have in place for dealing with the threat of bushfire.
A test message will be sent out early in Term 4 to all parents via their mobile phones. If you have changed your contact details recently or are not sure if we have your current mobile number on file, please contact the school as soon as possible to check we have up to date contact numbers.
Parents will also find a copy of our Bushfire Safety Information brochure with this newsletter as well as on our website. We strongly recommend that all parents become familiar with the processes and procedures we will follow in the case of a bushfire emergency.
GET THE APP IN A SNAP! Parents are reminded that the school App is available for download to both Apple and Android (eg: Samsung) devices.
The ‘Updat-ed’ App is linked to our school’s website and can be downloaded from either the Apple Store or Google Play. When you first attempt to use it you will be asked to select your school and enter relevant details to identify who you are. From then on you will be included in all of our App based communications.
With more and more of our families already registered for the App, we are increasing our use to alert parents of new items, key dates and urgent messages, so please support this initiative by downloading the relevant App for your device.
CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT - CALL FOR VOCALISTS This year the school will be holding a Carols by Candlelight concert on the evening of Friday December 8th and we need your help. While we will have our school choir leading some of the carols, we’d love to make this a real community event, with student, parent and staff groups leading the carols.
If you, your family, your friends or your group (of any type!) would like to take part in making this night a huge success, just pop in to school or drop me an e-mail letting me know what carol
you would like to lead and who will be with you. Simplez!
SWIMMING LESSONS for P - Yr 6 will be held in weeks 7 and 8. Mr Paul Larkin (Principal)
