Another way to figure out the answer is to multiply. Multiplication is a fast way to add equal numbers. Since all 3 cats have 4 legs, instead of adding them together, we could multiply.
4 legs
3 cats
12 legs

Multiplication involves sets of objects. Can you write a multiplcation problem for these sets?
I think I can do it!
5 sets of 2 each
5 X 2 =10
3 sets of 4 each
3 X 4 = 12
3 sets of 3 each
3 X 3 = 9
4 sets of 2 each
4 X 2 = 8
6 sets of 3 each
3 X 6 = 18
5 sets of 4 each
5 X 4 = 20
On your paper, draw sets to represent each of the following multiplication problems. Then solve the problems. Click on the to find the answer.
