Zhone's 8524 Multi-dwelling unit (MDU) GPON ONT is a standards-based

CPE designed for advanced triple-play deployments. It features 24

10/100Mbps Ethernet Ports and 24 POTS ports in a 1U high, 19” form

factor. The 8524 ONT may be rack-mounted or wall-mounted and is

AC-powered.

The 8524 ONT is ideal for triple-play service deployments in

Fiber-to-the-Building applications. Each Ethernet port can connect to a

Residential Gateway in each residence. Prioritization of packets is

maintained through the ONT guaranteeing a high Quality of Experience.

Voice services may be provided with the 24 POTS ports accessible on the

front panel or through Residential Gateways or IADs connected via the

Ethernet ports.

Compliant with standard OMCI definition, the 8524 ONT is manageable at

remote sites and supports the full range of FCAPS functions including

supervision, monitoring and maintenance.
