1.Who rescues the Tin
Woodman and the Scarecrow? Why?
Answer: The Winkies rescue them because they are so grateful to Dorothy for killing the Wicked Witch.
2. Why did the four leave the Yellow Castle and the Winkies?
Answer: To get what the Wizard of Oz promised them if they killed the Wicked Witch
3.Why was the journey to the Wicked Witch’s castle easier than heading back toward the land of Oz?
Answer: Because the Winged Monkeys carried them to the castle through the air.
4. Why do the flying monkeys agree to carry the group back to Emerald City?
Answer: Dorothy has the golden cap, so the monkeys must give her 3 wishes.
5. Why are the citizens of Oz surprised that Dorothy returned?
Answer: The Wicked Witch was evil and Dorothy had succeed in killing her.
6. What do the travelers discover about the Wizard?
Answer: He is actually an old man behind a screen making images, sound effects and special effects to look powerful.
7. Does the Wizard truly grant the wishes of the Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Woodman?
Answer: No, the Wizard pretends to give the gifts. However, they believe that he has, so it works.
8. Is the Wizard evil or good?
Answer: This is an opinion question. There will be many possible answers.
