Mrs Davis Miss Birch and Mrs McConell Introduction Welcome to Reception. The children have done so well and have settled in beautifully. Their confidence is growing and they are taking all of the new ex- periences in their stride. We will continue to use the community room door at the start and end of the day. This is to ensure the children's safety at all times. Thank you for your patience as we get to know your faces. We are nearly there! We have milk and fruit daily, so there is no need to send in additional fruit snacks. Can you make sure all children have coats in school everyday. Zone Boards The zone board is used to encourage good behaviour. Children start each day on the Blue Sky and have the opportunity throughout the day to move up the board towards Out of this World. This is recognised each day with house point re- wards and a dip in the class prize box. Children may be moved to Amber or Red Zone if they cannot make the correct choice after a warning. This is monitored by the class teacher and Assistant Headteacher responsible for the Key Stage. Homework The focus for this half terms is to settle the children into their new routines and part of this process in to also build Home/School links. Identifying ways that you can support your childs learning at home. We will be sending weekly reading books home with your child. We will also be sending practical homework type activities home to help support children's learning in class. These will begin in the next few weeks. Please look out for information in your child's book bag. P.E All children will need a P.E Kit. We have most of them in now, nut if you haven't sent one in, please do so ASAP. This term we will have Coach Justine. Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. For Health and Safely Reasons, if your child has pierced ears they will be required to remove their earrings. If they cant do this themselves, they will be covered using mi- cropore tape. Reading We would really appreciate your support in reading with your child little and often. This develops the childrens vocabulary and experiences, which feeds directly into their writing. Children have their reading diaries checked regularly and for every third time they read at home they will receive a house point. Concerns If you need to speak to us, the best time would be at the end of the day. You can leave a message with a member of the Senior Leadership Team who are on door duty in the morning.

Trips and Visits

We will be organising an educational visit once the chil-

dren are settled exploring our local area looking at

where we live and discussing our journeys to school.

We will be going to the MAC in December to watch a per-

formance of Kippers Snowy Day.

In Autumn 2, we willbe organising a trip to a local farm.
