We have a LOT of work to do today…I will only spend ten

minutes explaining directions and expectations and then you will get to work in groups. Mr. Parrish and I made the groups already so there’s

member should have their social studies textbook)

• One person reads – aloud – a paragraph or two loudly and clearly; the other group members follow along quietly

• The person to the LEFT summarizes what was read to the rest of the group; the other group members listen to the summary

• After the summary, the person who summarized reads the next section (one paragraph or two) of the text while the other group members follow along quietly

After the “Group Read” – 2 Things

• Brainstorm with your partner how to tell the story of what your group read – use the questions to guide your thinking

• Create a short video clip (using two superheroes theme) – your focus should be on the text of the clip. *If you have time, you can play with the formatting!

• I will give you the five minute warning which will indicate that you should be saving and logging off – you will watch these videos in class later in the week

• Brainstorm with your partner how to tell the story of what your group read – using visuals!

• Create one powerpoint slide that will help you tell the story of your topic to your peers – use visuals and text – this should look like a collage that will help you explain your topic

• I will give you a three minute warning which will indicate that you should be saving and logging off – your group will use this visual in class later in the week
