"Most of the 25 traders are riled- up with the 5ubang jaya Municipal Council (MP5j) for verbally telling them to move out. "MP5j must be more responsible and engage the traders through the 5eri Kembangan Petty Traders Association," said the 5el~ngor and Kuala Lumpur Petty Traders Federation chairman Jeff Tan Ker Chiang. He added that the council had not briefed the traders and "are just pushing them to the site at 5K6{1". "Now the traders are at 5KlO{4 in jalan Panggung. Moving them out to the new area would affect their busi- ness," he said. Tan, who met the 25 traders on Tuesday morning. said the 5eri Kembangan market relocation issue has been dragging on for almost a decade and it should be settled. "Tradersare against the relocation move and the MP5j councillors are just applyingpressure,"he said. He added that the association has been in constant contact with the traders but MP5j had chose to deal with the traders on an individual basis.
