Manipal Hospitals is the third largest hospital in India. With multiple care facilities located across five states, it currently operates and manages 4,900 hospital beds and caters to around 2 million patients from within the country and overseas every year.

Manipal Hospitals’ previous file transfer approach left the IT

team with the burden of manually managing each transfer

process. It was no easy task – the team not only had to manage

large numbers of data across 200 users, but the process

also required extensive setup for each new user request. A

solution that automated the secure exchange of sensitive

and confidential patient information was a must for Manipal

Hospitals’ IT department.

Implementing MOVEit has significantly simplified data

encryption and transfer of sensitive files. Previously users had

to go to a specific website, enter their individual username and

password to download the files. Now, file transfer is automated

and fully encrypted. Automating file transfer with MOVEit is

generating big dividends for Manipal Hospitals, saving large

amounts of time previous used up by file transfer tasks.

Cambridgeshire County Council is the UK local government authority responsible for administering 60 electoral divisions in the county of Cambridgeshire. The council works in partnership with other public services in the area, including the police and NHS, and is connected with other regional councils.

Previously we had no real control, and the only secure alternative for multiple files of 10GB and above was a complex, lengthy and expensive combination of couriers and encrypted CDs.

Cambridgeshire County Council needed to implement a solution that would prevent leakage of commercially sensitive or confidential public information such as financial debts with suppliers. They also needed to meet regulatory compliance with the UK Information Commissioners Office and have full audit trails of files moving between the council and third parties.

By selecting Ipswitch MOVEit, more than 4000 council staff now use the Outlook plug-in option as their primary mechanism for sending large data files. For citizens who wish to send confidential information to the council, they simply request that MOVEit’s “self-addressed envelope” feature is deployed to send them an empty package which they can then populate, safe in the knowledge that it will be received securely by the intended recipients.

As one of the largest specialist providers of working capital solutions in Australia and New Zealand, Scottish Pacific Business Finance (SPBF) deals with more than 1700 clients across 8 offices worldwide. Annually, SPBF handles more than $14 billion in invoices and provides more than $1 billion in funding to their clients.

MOVEit made the processes much simpler for us and ensured that our data were always secure.

After the acquisition of Bibby Financial Services’ (BFS) Australian and New Zealand offices SPBF had the daunting task of juggling between different systems of file transfer from the two companies. Medibank is Australia’s largest provider of integrated health insurance and health solutions. Since 1976, it has provided health insurance to cover more than 3.8 million Australians. Each year, it pays billions of dollars’ worth of hospital and allied health claims and directly delivers almost 600,000 clinical services, helping millions live healthier, fuller lives.

MOVEit passed our security team’s demanding requirements for end-to-end encryption and auditability with flying colors.

Each day, Medibank employees transfer up to 15GB of confidential healthcare files, including patient policy records that must be transferred securely between Medibank’s sites and 15 external business partners. Medibank has to ensure that all of its operations are transparent and auditable, meeting Australian government and Commonwealth regulations and policies as outlined by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Once MOVEit MFT Complete is fully implemented, the department estimates that it will achieve substantial time savings that will translate into dollar savings of over $30,000 each year, a figure that will increase as the number of files transferred grows. The number of files transferred is projected to grow from two-million to three-million plus as MOVEit is fully deployed.
