New Mover Outreach

People moving into our neighborhood receive a personalized postcard welcoming and inviting them to Mount Calvary. The invitation includes a map, our contact informa-tion, and times of worship.

Assets-Based Workshop

On October 26th, Mount Calvary held its first Congregational As-set Mapping workshop. Now, we need to translate workshop results into ac-tion. For background, we focused on these areas: 2nd Service with an Alter-native Worship Style, 90th Anniversary, Building Maintenance, Children and Youth, Communica-tions, Outreach, Radical Hospitality, and Volunteer Coordination.Participants received an overview of: Asset-based approaches and how they differ from deficit-based approaches; thinking abundantly versus scarcity thinking; and the challenges in changing ones mindset. They were then asked to respond to essential or big questions that leadership has struggled with in each of these focus areas.Participants generated 37 suggested actions that we could take which are spread over the focus ar-eas. The good news is that many of these actions cost no money and only some effort on our part. The MMC reviewed these sug-gested actions and decided to focus on two areas: Outreach and Radical Hospitality. For more information or to get more involved, contact Edgar Russell, 414.719.0316.

Rakayla Maxfield, and Aje-ria Pugh, and are coached by Stephanie Tonn and Richard Wendt Jr.

Pictorial Directory

Thanks to everyone who took the time to be photo-graphed for our 90th anni-versary pictorial directo-ry. Families are currently receiving their portraits. We hope the completed directory is available in early January 2015. We are particularly grateful to everyone who volunteered to make this possible.
