FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
Dear Friends, The image of sheep dominates the readings today. The early Church was just a fledgling flock when Peter’s testimony inspired thousands to ‘repent and be baptized.” Later, Peter commends the sheep for returning to the care of the shepherd after they had gone astray. In the Gospel of John, Jesus begins the story of the Good Shepherd. “The sheep hear His voice,” He says, and follow Him. On this holy day, we should remember those who have abandoned their faith or have forgotten that God is kind and merciful, a Good Shepherd, that calls out to us all and making sure that once found, we shall want for nothing. Good Shepherd Sunday is the traditional day to receive First Holy Communion in Churches around the world. On this Sunday of our fasting, keep in your prayer those children and adults who truly desire to receive Jesus, our Eucharistic Lord. May this pandemic end quickly so we can welcome them and all those who are lost back Home, where we all belong!
May God continue to bless you and your families every day,

SPECIAL CORONAVIRUS PAGE ON OUR WEBSITE
MDP is responding to the Coronavirus pandemic and updating schedules and activities in accordance with Archdiocesan directives and guidance from government agencies. Our website, www.mdpparish.com, has a page that will be the hub for all the latest information and will be updated frequently as the situation warrants. As you know, this is an incredibly fluid situation, and things are likely to change at any time, so please check the website frequently for the most up-to-date information.
Our goal is to continue to provide you the opportunity to be a part of parish life as best as we can. We may not be able to come together as we usually do as a parish family, but we will do our best to “Worship God first, above all other things and then ‘go and make disciples'” in different and creative ways.
Parish Staff is working remotely, with reduced hours and there are no public office hours. If you call please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Or you can email Carol Murray @ [email protected]. Please be safe and healthy! God Bless!
MDP CARNIVAL - WE NEED YOUR HELP

Protect them from the physical and moral dangers of military life. Keep them close to You and help them live the Commandments. Lord, Jesus, give them courage to serve their Country with honor and dignity. Be with them when they are in danger; strengthening them when they face hardships. And Lord, grant that, when their service is finished, they may return to us sound in mind, body, soul. In particular, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their fellow man and Country. Amen. You are invited to submit your loved one’s name to the Parish Offices or email Carol Murray at [email protected].
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY Due to the current shelter-in-place orders the Prayer Shawl Ministry is postponing our meetings until the orders are lifted.
This time is best used thinking of others; praying
for them. Prayer shawls are prayers made manifest. The Ancient Greeks called this "Agape"; love as an action. (Ah-GAH-pay).
If being ordered to stay at home is driving you nuts you can create shawls and lap rugs at your leisure! There are many free shawl patterns online. You can also order yarn online, too. Do remember to wash all created items before you bring them to the parish office.
As we can't travel except for necessities hold on to your creations until traveling is allowed. The travel bans will be lifted and the fruits of our labors will be needed. Many will need visible support from us, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Until we meet again may God Bless you all!
A CORONAVIRUS PRAYER Jesus Christ, healer of all, stay by our side in this time of uncertainty and sorrow.
Be with those who have died from the virus. May they be at rest with You in Your eternal peace.
Be with the families of those who are sick or have died. As they worry and grieve, defend them from illness and despair. May they know Your peace.
Be with the doctors, nurses, researchers and all medical professionals who seek to heal and help those affected and who put themselves at risk in the process. May they know Your protection and peace.
Be with the leaders of all nations. Give them the foresight to act with charity and true concern for the well-being of the people they are meant to serve. Give them the wisdom to invest in long-term solutions that will help prepare for or prevent future outbreaks. May they know Your peace, as they work together to achieve it on earth.
Whether we are home or abroad, surrounded by many people suffering from this illness or only a few, Jesus Christ, stay with us as we endure and mourn, persist and prepare. In place of our anxiety, give us Your peace.
Jesus Christ, heal us. Amen

GRIEF SUPPORT Grieving is a process, different for each individual experiencing it, yet it has no real timeline; no assurance that you will be fine in a month, a year or two years. You will experience a rollercoaster of emotions
when you are suffering from grief, yet you may not experience the same emotions as someone else. You will not be the same person you where prior to your loved one’s death, but you will be able to cope.
The April meeting for Grief Support has been suspended as required by the State government. We do plan on having our May meeting on May 16th at 9:00 AM in the Parish Office conference room. Please check here to see that nothing has changed. Be safe!
Light refreshments will be served.
IT IS OUR RIGHT
AND
OUR DUTY TO VOTE!
Our April primary has been postponed until June. As the June 2 primary approaches, we are all reminded of the importance of performing our civic duty by voting. This year, the State of Pennsylvania is encouraging people to vote safely by mail. To start the process of signing up for “Vote by Mail” go to www.pavoterservices.pa.gov and follow the directions. If you do not have access to the Internet, you can also get a paper application for “Vote by Mail” by calling the PA Department of State at 1-877-868-3722.

During this time of social distancing, routines have been interrupted. You
can still order Scrip and remain socially distant. The best ways to do
this is to go to www.greatlakesscrip.com and reload
your existing cards. You can order Electronic Cards as well. If neither of these work for you, you can call the parish office at 610-265-4178 and
leave a message for an order. Or you can call Mariann Bevenour at 610-212-7520 to place an order. We can then make arrangements to deliver orders
and pick up payment.
