Background
In 2008, The Mosaic Company Senior
Leadership Team (SLT) chartered the Senior
Safety Strategy Team (SSST) to create a draft
Strategic Safety Plan that will appropriately
and efficiently engage the Company’s entire
North American organization in creating “An
Injury-Free Workplace”.

Methodology
The project consisted of three phases:
1. Developing a Safety Vision for The Mosaic
Company.
2. Assessing (DNV and BST) The Mosaic
Company’s current organizational culture
and safety climate and its safety-related
sustaining and enabling systems.
3. Creating a draft strategic plan that leverages
our strengths, identified gaps and to better
align the company’s organizational culture
and climate with its Safety Vision.
