It has also noticed that there is a decrease in stream frequency as the stream order increases. Therefore , the intersection of a first order and second order link will remain second order link. rather than create a third order link.

Stream Order (Su): Stream ordering is the first step of quantitative analysis of thewatershed. The stream ordering systems has first advocated by Horton (1945), but Strahler(1952) has proposed this ordering system with some modifications. Author has been carriedout the stream ordering based on the method proposed by Strahler, Table 1 (Figure 3). It hasobserved that the maximum frequency is in the case of first order streams. It has also noticedthat there is a decrease in stream frequency as the stream order increases.

STRAHLER The method of stream ordering proposed by strahler in 1952. stream order only increases when streams of the same order intersect . Therefore , the intersection of a first order and second order link will remain second order link. rather than create a third order link.

SHREVE The method of stream ordering by magnitude , proposed by shreve in 1967. All links with no tributaries are assigned a magnitude order of one.Magnitude are additive downslope. when two links intersect , their magnitude are added and assigned to the downslope link .
