It will give them a real insight into what a day at high school looks, sounds and feels like. I look forward to chang to the students tomorrow to find out about their experiences. Two of our Year 5 students, Eva Vigar and Esther Wenham have commenced lessons this term as part of the Aurora Virtual Opportunity Class trial. The girls were very excited recently when their Aurora shirts arrived. The girls join a virtual class twice per week compleng learning online and are to be commended for the effort that they are pung into their learning. Plans are well underway for next year. It is more likely than not that there will be a reducon in classes. With the reducon of classes it will mean that there will be composite classes for 2019. Composite classes have been the source of much controversy over the years, with parents oſten believing that their child is being disadvantaged in some way by being in one. The key to understanding composites is realising that growth is determined the individual student and not magically by ages. Within any class they are always going to be variaons of age and learning needs. The crucial aspect being the teacher, knowing the learning needs of all students and thus developing quality learning experiences to support the individual needs of all students in their class. To further support our planning processes can you please let the school know if your child will not be at our school next year. Have a wonderful week of learning! Thought for the week: “When you see something beauful in a student, let them know. It may take a second to say, but for them it could last a lifeme.“ Scott Sanford Principal If families would like to donate to the Ulysses Toy Run, new toys/ games can be left at the 3-6 and K-2 office. Toys will be picked up on Friday 30th November 2018 at 10.15am. Thank you WHEN: Tuesday 27th November WHERE: School Library TIME: 8am - 4pm Cash or cheque (made out to Morgan Street Public School)

Learning for all at Morgan Street

We commence our week today with our Year 6 students spending the full day at Willyama High School as the final part of their transition program. It will give them a real insight into what a day at high school looks, sounds and feels like. I look forward to chatting to the students tomorrow to find out about their experiences.

Two of our Year 5 students, Eva Vigar and Esther Wenham have commenced lessons this term as part of the Aurora Virtual Opportunity Class trial. The girls were very excited recently when their Aurora shirts arrived. The girls join a virtual class twice per week completing learning online and are to be commended for the effort that they are putting into their learning.

Plans are well underway for next year. It is more likely than not that there will be a reduction in classes. With the reduction of classes it will mean that there will be composite classes for 2019. Composite classes have been the source of much controversy over the years, with parents often believing that their child is being disadvantaged in some way by being in one. The key to understanding composites is realising that growth is determined the individual student and not magically by ages. Within any class they are always going to be variations of age and learning needs. The crucial aspect being the teacher, knowing the learning needs of all students and thus developing quality learning experiences to support the individual needs of all students in their class. To further support our planning processes can you please let the school know if your child will not be at our school next year. Have a wonderful week of learning!
