The City of Moreno Valley is seeking a strategic partner who shares our commitment to collaborate,

innovate and deliver exceptional service to our community. The Assistant City Manager (ACM) is one of two

(2) ACM positions, that serve as key members of the City’s leadership team with direct responsibility for the

management of assigned departments and effective implementation of City-wide strategic initiatives and

policies.

This position will serve as the development leader for the City, assisting the City Manager with establishing

short and long-term development and redevelopment plans to meet the City's strategic growth and

development objectives. It is important to note that responsibilities are broad in scope and involve highly

sensitive and publicly visible projects that require a high degree of policy, program and management

discretion. In this role, you will oversee the Public Works Department, Moreno Valley Utility, and Community

Development Department.

Education: Graduation from an accredited

college or university with major course work in

public or business administration, or closely

related field. An advanced degree is highly

desirable.

Experience: Progressively responsible experience

in an administrative, managerial, or senior level

staff capacity in a comparable organization,

dealing with a wide variety of local government

and economic development issues.

Assistant City Manager experience required.

Moreno Valley was incorporated in 1984 as a General Law City, merging the communities of Moreno, Sunny-

mead and Edgemont. The City operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council is

comprised of an elected Mayor and four Council Members elected by district. The City has a committed;

customer-service oriented workforce comprised of more than 450 employees who provide a wide-range of

municipal services including Public Works, Economic Development, Community Development, Parks and

Community Services, Financial and Management Services and Library services. The City contracts with

Riverside County for Police and Fire services.

The City of Moreno Valley is a dynamic City home to nearly 215,000 people and 4,500 businesses. Inland

qualifications) Medical Insurance - Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage for employee and eligible dependents Retirement - CalPERS 2%@55 for classic employees and 2%@62 for PEPRA members

Life Insurance - City paid basic life insurance at three-times annual salary up to $300,000

Flexible Spending Account - (Health & Dependent Care)

Professional Development - $2,000 annual education reimbursement

Annual leave - Up to 296 hours

Holidays - 11 designated paid holidays

Deferred compensation plan - Section 457 and 401a option
