Which of the thirty-nine artists on display got

into Laurence Olivier's pants? Just the pants, mind you.

His backstage job presented the chance to become a chatting acquaintance of the

actor, and he managed to appropriate a pair of the great man's cast-off trousers to

incorporate in his work.

(In terms of artistic significance, Olivier's pants might be said, in hindsight

anyway, to offer more than most actors. He was much admired for his athletic stage presence, to the extent that his contemporary John Gielgud later gave the

famous contrast: “I had the voice; Larry had the legs.'')

Hawaii. What springs to mind when you hear that name? Fantastic beaches, hospitality and their wonderful culture. This young talented group from O’ahu, has certainly captured hearts all over the Pacific including Australia and New Zealand. Their album “This is the life” debuted in 2009 with 11 original songs composed by Kolohe Kai leader Roman De Peralta, influenced by his family, faith, friends, love of surfing and life. The music is about “embracing family, friends living life to the fullest. The song “Cool down” is one of my favourite songs on

their album.

“Bruddah IZ” The gentle voice of Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole will capture your heart. “Somewhere over the rainbow” is a beautiful collection of songs that reflect on his life, homeland and hope for all. The song “Hawaii 78” is how he perceived Hawaii and the changes to his beautiful homeland, the transformation from the traditional ways to life in a modern society. This is a heart warming song that I’m sure all indigenous people all over the world can relate too.
