Cherie Bell andMichael Allwood

Club Persons of the yearCongratulations to Cherie Bell and Michael “Rocky” Allwood.

Rocky and Cherie are a dynamic duo to say the least, as both individually and as a couple, they have contributed positively to Club life in many ways.

Cherie has not only competed and trained with Mooloolaba this season, she has also found time to patrol 56 hrs, maintain her role as a co-captain of K Patrol and has provided water safety at the various carnivals that our beach has hosted. You may also know Cherie as one of our Club trainers volunteering to induct new bronzies and making sure we are all proficient each year! One course is well over 100 hrs.

In her spare time, she has undertaken the big job of redesigning the Club's apparel to give us a more modern look, just in time for our Centennial Year. In addition to all that, Cherie has conducted interviews on behalf of the nipper fraternity, helping to choose our nipper captain, and been our Club photographer. Many of the photo’s that we show you have been taken by Cherie

Rocky has also been at the front and centre of the Club this season, undertaking a volunteer coaching role for the board. This session started out with only 3 people in the early days and grew to having up to 20 people at the peak of training. Many people who do Rocky’s sets love that he incorporates his sense of Aussie humour into every session. In addition to coaching, Rocky has patrolled with wife Cherie, undertaken water safety and trained with his own boat crew.

Rocky is a great contributor when it comes to fundraising for the Club. He can often be seen with his fellow boaties pounding the pavement of the local businesses to bring in some much needed funding for our Club.

As a couple Rocky and Cherie have also contributed thousands of dollars towards the Club this season and we humbly thank them for remembering us as we are heavily reliant upon donations to keep the beach safe!

Family is a gift that lasts foreverThis year we proudly honour the families of our Club, as never before have our families been more

important. Family is life's greatest blessing, a group that dreams, laughs and plays together. You can always count on family, always present in good times and bad. At Mooloolaba, we are fortunate to

have many different family groups who are lucky to call our beach and Club home.

It is our great pleasure to present to you, the 98th Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club and The Surf Club Mooloolaba Annual Report and Financial Statements for the 2019 . 2020 financial year.

Sincerely,Janine Wilson

Having five generations of the Graham family as members of Mooloolaba Surf Club is very special. The family has formed lifelong friendships over the years and have memories that will last a lifetime.

In 1968, Peter (“Stitches”) Graham joined Mooloolaba as a foundation Nipper, alongside his Dad (Don Graham), Mum (June Graham), and Grandfather (Dave Andersen) and later younger brother Craig. The entire family have been integral members of the Club for over 50 years.

Dave, who is a Life Member, volunteered his time to paint the Clubhouse after it was rebuilt in 1979-80 and assisted in fundraising and maintenance around the Club.

Don was the first life member of the nippers and is also a Life Member of the senior Club. He held multiple roles over the years including Secretary for the Nippers, Gear Steward and Team Manager for nippers and the senior Club. Don was carnival organiser for the Queensland state titles on several occasions. June was involved in fundraising and used to make the Club caps and raffle bags. Craig was a vigilant patrol member and also participated in fundraising.

DedicationOur Club FamilyThe Graham Family.

Peter, also a Life Member, was President of the Club from 2010 to 2015 and held many other Surf Club and Supporters Club committee positions over the years. Peter won multiple Queensland and Australian Titles as a beach competitor and became the youngest open champion in any event at the time when he won the Queensland senior and junior beach flags titles in 1974, aged 15. He was the Club beach coach for around 30 years and is now involved in IRB racing as a competitor and coach. Peter was also involved in fundraising which included driving to Brisbane on weekends to run raffles at the Royal Exchange Hotel as well as house to house collections and local pub raffles.

Peter’s daughters, Talea and Breanna, joined Nippers when they were old enough and competed in most events including Rescue and Resuscitation (R & R) and March Past. They eventually moved into IRB racing together with Peter. Peter’s granddaughter, Lettie, joined Nippers this season and his grandson, Corbin, is set to join Nippers next season.

Patrol family is a diverse collection of people who enjoy coming together to provide a service to the community and to ensure people enjoy their time at the beach. They’re a team of mates, a network of friends who support each other mentally, have each other’s back and trust their ability to keep our beaches safe.

There’s a lot of similarities between lifesaving patrols and families, there’s a wide range of ages and experience, the elders pass on their knowledge to the younger ones, teenagers are always testing the boundaries, we all work together in a crisis and a host of other similarities; but the one defining trait that keeps families and patrols in harmony; is knowing that we’ve always got each other’s back.

The top picture is a recent one, Dave Slatter and Steve Notley on COVID-19 surveillance patrol, signing ‘zero people on the beach, zero in the water and zero drownings.’ The bottom photo is F Patrol COVID-19 style.

Over the course of the season we saw an increase in engagement across all areas of the Club – this includes, and is not limited to, an increase in membership numbers, an increase in award holders, an increase in efficiencies through technology, and an increase in communication. We continued to see the re-engagement with Life Members and this has led to the establishment of a working group for the upcoming centenary in 2022.

Financially the Club has performed well and has managed to maintain its current level of debt reduction. Fixed revenue remained stable and we were fortunate to receive a one-off payment from the Supporters Club as a principal reduction to the inter-related loan facility. Prudent financial management is still the main priority of the Club and will remain so until such time that we carry nil debt. At this point we will look to growth based, income generating initiatives to ensure we build a sustainable Lifesaving Club for the future.

Throughout the season we were also reminded of the very real situation of why we are here and you, our members, performed above and beyond both in preventative action and through care management of the community we serve. The collaboration, support and teamwork in providing a safe beach was always at the forefront of everything we achieved.

Our Surf Sports results are continuing to gain traction across all disciplines and age groups and is testament to our coaching teams and their programs, participation rates, and we are continuing to work towards structured programs that cater for all abilities.

The season end saw a once in a lifetime event (COVID-19) that took everyone by surprise. Fortunately, through a collaborative approach we were proactive in managing this crisis and maintained the safety of our members and the community. We were also mindful of the reputational risk associated with delaying action and as a result of this we will come through the other side bigger and better.

In closing I would like to thank the Supporters Club Committee and Staff for their tireless support of the Lifesaving Club. I would also like to extend a warm heartfelt thanks to the Lifesaving office team (Jacki, Kaitlyn and Kylie) – without their support the Club literally would not function. To the management committee and all other position holders – thank you for your ongoing commitment in serving the members and maintaining your respective portfolios. Finally, to you our members and your families – thank you for choosing Mooloolaba to be your Club family. It is not something we take for granted and we will continue to remain humble and serve you and the community as best we can.

Thanks for a great season and bring on our 99th season!!!

CairnsyPresident

Welcome to the 98th Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club Annual Report!!!!

It is fitting that this season was dedicated to FAMILIES. When we look at the underlying meaning behind this theme we only need to look around the Club to see that the conventional definition of family is not applicable. Across the Club it is easy to identify various groups that would call themselves a family. We have our patrolling members, our Life Members, our nipper families, our beachies, our boaties, our Masters, our returned service men and women, and the list goes on. This collective allows us to derive benefit from being a part of a club that we are proud to call our Club family.

Our core principles which shape the culture of our Club are underpinned by an overwhelming sense of camaraderie, friendship, trust and support. We have a tendency to look at the Club through our own rose-coloured glasses however the one thing that stands true, is that our Club is the sum of all parts and that is why we love it and why we love being a part of it. Our Club gives us a sense of purpose and allows us that rare opportunity to express selflessness, where we are doing something great for the community and for each other.

What a year it has been.

Dennis ‘Gus’ Gordon

Life Member 1989.Denis ‘Gus’ Gordon walked the shores of Mooloolaba beach for 56 years and became a shining light of inspiration for the younger members who wanted to become lifesavers on our beautiful bay.Gus was the catalyst of a strong four decades in the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. He was always there, at the back of the boat, coaching a crew, at the pub doing raffles, patrolling and undertaking clubhouse duties. He is a living legend of Mooloolaba SLSC.

Yvonne Jewell

Attained Bronze 2006.Advanced Resus.Senior First Aid.Contribution: C patrol - actively patrolling until 2019. Yvonne loved being a patrolling member and took her role seriously and with pride. She enjoyed being a part of the Masters group, more as a social participant. Being very new to this water sport, learning to acquire her board and ski skills over the years gave her a new appreciation and she thoroughly enjoyed the process and accomplishment. She loved participating in the team events when she did go to a carnival. Social outings Yvonne attended she always would be like the mother figure and did a good job looking after everyone. A role she enjoyed.

Jenny Crawford

Life Member 2017.29 years of service to Mooloolaba SLSC - Joined 1988.Attained: Advanced Resus, 1st Aid and Senior First Aid, Training officer, Assessor, JAC Chairperson from 1995-98 seasons, Age Manager during nipper years. Even when her family had moved on, her and husband Kerry stayed involved as officials throughout Australia and overseas.

It has been an absolute privilege to serve as Mooloolaba’s Club Captain for 2019 . 2020 season and being the second female Club Captain in nearly 100 years has been an honour. For me, this year was a year of learning, leading and growing what was already a fantastic group of patrolling members.

The season started with a new idea of all the Patrol Captains and Vice Captains coming together on the first patrol, to learn and mentor each other. Mooloolaba Beach was also chosen to roll out the Sunshine Coast Council's new accessible beach matting initiative which has been a huge success.

As in past years we provided water safety for events including the 70.3 Ironman, the Ocean Swim, and the Mooloolaba Triathlon, but on top of all these events we also hosted the Iron X, and Branch and State Titles from Nippers through to Masters. I would like to thank the patrols members for working together with each of these groups to ensure the safety of not only the competitors, but also the public in and out of the water.

And then the dreaded COVID-19 arrived which saw, for the first time in the Clubs history, surveillance patrols only, which started on the 28th March 2020 and continued until the end of the season. This was a very difficult time, not only for our surf club and members but also for Surf Life Saving Queensland to manage and maintain the safety and wellbeing of patrolling members and the public. I am very grateful for the support I was given by everyone, this was definitely a team effort.

I am pleased to say that we had zero preventable deaths during our patrols, but unfortunately Mooloolaba Beach did lose a member of the public early one morning midweek before the flags were raised. We had 1,017 Marine Stings, 7 spinals and numerous other incidents which I can honestly say were all dealt with professionally by our patrol members.

So thank you to everyone that has assisted me in my first year as Club Captain including the Management Committee, Patrol Captains,

patrolling members and of course my right hand men and women, Ian Warburton, Blake Ison, Stacey Campbell, Ryan Jones, Kylie, Kaitlyn, Jackie and of course my family.

I look forward to leading you all again hopefully in 2020 . 2021.

Heidi ImbrognoClub Captain

It has been an absolute privilege to serve as Club Captain this season being the second female Club Captain in nearly 100 years.

Thank you to everyone.

Patrolling Excellence.Patrolling Excellence.Yet again the dedication of our patrolling members is shown every year in various ways, none less than those members who achieve 100% rostered patrol attendance. To obtain this award a patrolling member must attend every one of their rostered patrols without substituting, swapping or missing any over a full season (September to May). This means a committed approach to patrolling duties and as such the achievement is recognised both at a club level and by Surf Life Saving Australia.

Congratulations to these Members!

Tony Imbrogno

Excellence AwardCongratulations to Tony Imbrogno this year’s Daryle Payne award recipient. Tony has been very active across many areas of Club life this season. In addition to his patrol captain commitments with K Patrol, Tony was the water safety convenor for the nippers. The responsibility for water safety of the entire nipper contingent is no mean feat and Tony took on this responsibility having no children in nippers. Thank you Tony for taking on this commitment to ensure our Junior members were safe in the water on Nipper Sundays. Tony completed a total of 61 patrol hours including his other commitments to Club carnival water safety.

He has been a regular attendee to assist the Club with BBQ’s and set up on carnival days.

The Veterans group welcomes everyone into their family, including people who have not served in the Defence Force and visitors from interstate. The group used to regularly meet in the public BBQ area next to the Mooloolaba Surf Club, and in early 2000 they became part of the Mooloolaba Surf Club family. They now host a weekly BBQ breakfast in the activities area which is open to anyone. Geoff Jewell has been the backbone of their catch-ups, cooking the BBQ every Thursday for over 10 years.

Each year the Vets organise ANZAC Day at Mooloolaba beach; it started in 2008 with 200 people and has now grown to 8,000 people. It is one of the only ANZAC days not run by the RSL and offers a unique opportunity for our Nippers to become part of the family, learning what it means to be an ANZAC.

As a family, they support each other with patrols, making sure the radio tower is always covered. They have also brought their skills from the Defence Force to help make us all better lifesavers, including radio skills, problem solving skills and training skills.

To the Vets, a family is one where you have each other’s back, stick together no matter what, teamwork, courage and mutual respect.

DedicationOur Club FamilyThe Veteran Family.

Junior Club PersonThis year's “Doug Jewry Award” recipient is Sophie Horder.

Sophie has been a very active junior member of the Club this year. She has performed admirably as one of Mooloolaba’s Nipper Captains and is very popular among her peers.

This season she completed her SRC and patrolled over 50 hours including giving extra time for water safety at the various carnivals held on our beach.

In conjunction with her patrolling commitments she has competed for the Club and trained in both the junior and adult training sessions. Sophie also attended Camp Commando.

Well done Sophie!

Amy Cridland

Nipper of the YearThis year's “Nipper of the Year” recipient is Amy Cridland.

Amy has been a formidable part of Mooloolaba since she commenced nippers as an U9 back in 2014. Amy attends almost all Nipper Sunday’s always with a smile on her face and puts in 100% effort at carnivals, nippers and training sessions getting her well-deserved results. Amy competes in all events during points day doing an exceptional job throughout. During the current season, Amy has completed 38.75 patrol hours in her first year as an SRC.

Amy always tries to learn new things and tries her best in every aspect of surf lifesaving.

This season, Amy topped the points table at both points’ day, excelling in all water events and holding her own in the beach events. Amy’s attendance and performance on points days enabled her to defend her Age Champion status, making it four years in a row as Age Champion.

Throughout the season, Amy participated in Junior Marchpast, Camp Commando, and was awarded nipper vice-captain for season 2019 . 2020.

Amy competed in all Sunshine Coast based carnivals except for Champion Lifesaver, her hard work paid off as she qualified for the State Youth Championships in the 2km beach run, Board relay and the Surf Teams.

This season, Nippers have enjoyed an overwhelmingly positive year, with many things to celebrate. On the back of the 50th year of nippers, our club experienced growth of 17.5% to grow to 422 junior activities members making us the third largest nipper club on the Sunshine Coast. What a fitting way to celebrate this year’s Club theme – Family.

Once again, our season started with the U14’s completing their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) during the first week of the September school holidays. This resulted in 20 new young lifesavers who have spent the season patrolling our beach. It’s a wonderful milestone to achieve and I am sure that these members will continue to patrol Mooloolaba beach for many years to come. Mooloolaba is fortunate to have some of the best trainers in Australia, special thanks to Bill Ochman and his team for all the support and assistance again throughout the year.

In what was a first for the Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba led the way with the introduction of compulsory long sleeve rash shirts for the U6 to U10 nippers and short sleeve rash shirts for the U11 to U14 nippers. Our nippers were hard to miss in their bright fluro yellow and

they were a hit with the kids right from the start. It was very pleasing to see the positive uptake of this initiative that will benefit our kids in years to come.

Once again, thanks to our coaching team who have done a tremendous job throughout the season. Thanks to our Board and Iron Coach – Mitch Miller, Beach Coach – Craig Parker, March Past Coach – Charli Jones and our other regular coaches – Brett Williams, Michael Allwood and Jason Irwin. Skills have continued to improve, and the coaching efforts were rewarded with high numbers competing across all age groups at the Branch Titles – a 40% participation rate for those who can compete, double the branch average. Unfortunately, we were not able to participate in the State Titles this year, however we had a massive 59 athletes qualified, prepped and ready to compete.

We had big season of home carnivals. I’m pretty sure our gear steward Ryan Jones has a bed at the Clubhouse. Ryan’s work ethic is exemplary along with all those who contributed to our carnival workforce.

This season, Nippers have enjoyed an overwhelmingly positive year, with many things to celebrate

I’ve mentioned many times throughout the season that we can’t run nippers without the support of volunteers. In fact, we need around 70 to 80 volunteers to run a Sunday nipper morning. Age Managers, Water Safety, IRB and BBQ/Canteen helpers. Thank you to all.

Our Age Managers are simply, amazing. They inspire our kid’s week in week out. One of my mantra’s this season has been “Better People make Better Nippers” and for the first time we undertook a preseason session to upskill our Age Manager and Water Safety. This was the most prepared we have been for many seasons. We also expanded the involvement of our cadets with several U15’s providing a supporting role as Assistant Age Managers. It’s a big undertaking to take a group of kids into the ocean every week, so thank you to all our Age Managers.

Our Water Safety were ably led by our Chief Water Safety Officer Tony Imbrogno. Tony ensured compliance across the beach providing the safe environment we need to run nippers. Our water safety is critical to our nipper operations, we can’t do it without you.

An overwhelmingly postive year.

Our fundraising has been outstanding this season. It has been very pleasing to be self-sufficient throughout the year. It’s a big commitment to run all the BBQ’s and raffles so well done to all involved. Once again, thank you to our sponsors, in particular, Boost Juice Mooloolaba and Bakers Delight Mooloolaba. Boost and Bakers have been long time supports of Mooloolaba nippers, thank you for helping get the kids sorted on the beach.

This year we re-introduced nipper captains with our U14’s. The male captain this season was Saul Nicol-Rann and the female captain was Sophie Horder. They were ably supported by Vice Captains Amy Cridland and Ava Daniels.

We also re-introduced our newsletter. Thank you to Gina Fink for pulling this together every fortnight. It is a great source of information to keep our nipper families up to date.

With the assistance of Jack Reed, this season we introduced the Bronco's Day and I am pleased to say that is planned to be back again next season. The Bronco's initiative was made possible through the support of our Supporters Club who have been able and willing to assist us at various times throughout the year.

All of this cannot happen without the support of our team in the Lifesaving office. A big thanks to Kylie Jones who has supported us tirelessly once again. With 422 nippers, being organised is very important so your support is much appreciated.

Thank you to the executive committee who have worked tirelessly all season – Anthony Thomas, Jodie Moore, Lisa Mainelle, Claire Bascombe, Stacey Campbell, Jason Irwin, Steve Notley. The dedication from this team of people has produced an outstanding season. Thank you.

Finally, our season didn’t quite end as we had hoped. That doesn’t take away from what was achieved throughout the year. There is much to reflect on, and as I have said before – Memories last for Ever!

The Fink family became members of Mooloolaba Surf Club in 2015 when their son Jake joined the Under 6 green caps. A year later his father, Ollie, joined up to become an Age Manager. At the time of joining, mum, Gina signed up for the Bronze Medallion training course so she could assist with water safety. Two years later, their other son Dylan joined the green caps and Gina has since become an Age Manager, patrolling member, Junior Activity Committee member and the person behind the Nipper newsletters and communications.

The whole family love spending their time at the beach and being part of the bigger Surf Club family where there are so many people who pitch-in whenever help is required. They have formed great friendships over the years and love being immersed in a positive and healthy environment where they have opportunities to learn new skills.

Being part of the Club is like having extended family where they are surrounded by so many role models and nice people who look out for each other regardless of their age.

The 2019 . 2020 season saw the continuation of the Youth Development Program along with the participation of our Youth in many aspects of our Club and at Branch and State events.

The Youth Development Program assists our young members of the Club to stay involved, to build relationships between members of their own age and of all ages and to develop their teamwork, leadership and lifesaving skills. This season, members from U14 to U17s partook in events such as Ten Pin Bowling, Aqua Fun Park and Laser Zone. Unfortunately, due to circumstances we were unable to complete the rest of the activities planned. We had members participate in Branch and State camps and programs, with some of our members stepping up and being a part of the leadership and coordination team in these programs, including the Sunshine Coast Camp Commando. It is programs like these that upskill our members’ teamwork and leadership skills, which are so essential in our Club. Our Youth were part of raising funds for these activities by organizing Taco night and hosting BBQs. They were an integral part of our competitive team, having members successfully compete in champion lifesaver, surf sports, beach events, IRB and boats. Youth members were also

vigilant on the beach patrolling and volunteering at Nippers as water safety or as age managers. Our Youth members should be commended on the way they represent our Club, whether it be on the beach in the red and yellow, or at Club, Branch and State events.

On behalf of the Youth members of Mooloolaba SLSC, we would like to thank everyone who has helped with the Youth Development Program. Thank you to our President and the Management Committee for

supporting the Youth Development Program. Thank you to our Club Captain and Patrol Captains for their role in leading Cadet Patrol Captains. Thank you to our members for looking out for our Youth and who have supported them in their endeavour’s this season. We are looking forward to next season and are excited to see what it brings!

Emma Angel and Karina Trotter Youth Development Coaches

Our Youth members should be commended on the way they represent our Club.

MOOLOOLABA SURF LIFE SAVING SUPPORTERS CLUB 2019 . 2020

I am pleased to report to the members on the progress and performance of your Club for the 2019 . 2020 Financial Year.

It has been a year of much success and challenges. So many factors arose during the year requiring the Club to adjust and manage as the year progressed. Severe drought, damaging bushfires and finally COVID-19 were the most significant events impacting on the Club and the nation.

Our Club met these challenges head on and continues to do so. By February 2020, our membership had exceeded 48,000. This is incredible growth up on the 9,000 members we had when the changes to membership were introduced less than two years earlier. It is incredibly pleasing to see that more than 50% of these members live on the Sunshine Coast. This commendable statistic is wonderful and extremely important. It displays the solid support of the venue by locals which is greatly appreciated.

The Club has reciprocated this support by the local community, with the support of numerous Sunshine Coast organisations, whilst still maintaining solid support of our main priority, The Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club. The more

we support the community, be it through keeping Mooloolaba beach safe or supporting community organisations, the better our business becomes. People are now far more cognisant of the link between the Supporters Club and the financial assistance it provides to the volunteer Surf Club. They understand, that by spending money in a Supporters Club they are in fact assisting in saving lives on the beach. It would be difficult to find a better cause.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has been devastating to say the least. Our trade slowly ground to a halt, with the eventual forced closure at 12 noon on Monday March 23rd, 2020. Prior to COVID-19 our Club was trading impressively with all departments exhibiting solid growth over the previous year. Well done to my team of industry professionals for driving such positive results for the first 10 months of the FY, May 1st to February 29th. Income was up $533,000, Cost of Goods was down $4,000, Total Expenses were down $82,000. Operating Profit was up $567,000. Operating Profit had reached $2,010,000 YTD. The April 30th result was solid however obviously blemished by the COVID-19 closure. Please refer to the financials for the full FY figures.

This solid performance has assisted the Club to endure the financial strain created by COVID-19. The Committee approved registering for JobKeeper. 54 staff met the Governments criteria as Eligible Employees and were provided with the wage subsidy. The commitment by the Club included $162,000 in cashflow per month, as this subsidy is reimbursed by the Government monthly in arrears. Constant communication was kept with our staff as JobKeeper was implemented and this continued through to last week when we reopened with 20 pax per room. The reopening on Friday June 5th 2020 was achieved with four days’ notice after a closure of 10 weeks. Once again, our team is to be commended for this effort. All staff have now been trained and issued with certification for COVID-19 safety. We appreciate the solid support shown by you since reopening and hope that further easing of restrictions will make your experience even more enjoyable.

In closing I wish to sincerely thank you the members, my wonderful team, and my dedicated, supportive, and professional Committee. Together we are dealing with unprecedented times in a focussed and determined manner. It will be lovely to see you all back enjoying memorable experiences at The Surf Club Mooloolaba in the near future.

Kind regards,Bryan Jones ACCMGeneral Manager

Hard work and dedication will pull us through

OUR CLUB FAMILY

Last season I wrote in my annual report to members “what a big year it has been”. Well that, of course, is nothing by comparison to this COVID-19 year, and the effect on us all has been very significant. It has been a busy and difficult time for all local licensed clubs, pubs and restaurants, but, the Mooloolaba SLSC Supporters Club is well organised and well positioned to ride this out.

We have a lot to be thankful for at our Club. The timing of this event was fortunate for us as our financial position was sound when it hit. That is not to say that this event hasn’t affected us significantly and our ability to return to the trading results of the past may be hindered going forward. Coronavirus aside, our trading results this year have been very good, and are above the previous year. We look forward to when we can build on the gains we had made during this year and getting back to normal.

Broncos/The Surf Club Mooloolaba program

One of the very positive activities that the Club is continuing with is the Brisbane Broncos/The Surf Club Mooloolaba schools program.

One of letters of support received for this program was from the Principal of the Mooloolaba State School, which ended with...

"Keep up the good work and thanks for looking out for Mooloolaba kids."

Our Life Governor, Alan Murray, recently echoed support of the program, as a program that all members, past and present, should be very proud of for what their Club is doing within the wider community. Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Supporters Club is not just a surf lifesaving club but a community club supporting a large local community.

Thank you Thank you to our fantastic staff who have endured a very difficult year. All I can say is that myself and the committee appreciate the hard work you do for the Mooloolaba SLSC and in turn helping keep Mooloolaba Beach safe.

Also, a big thank you to the large number of our volunteer surf lifesaving club members who continue to support the Supporters Club, which in turn helps provide funds to help run the Surf Club. These positive and supportive members are great to have around the Club...for me they typify the true culture of the surf lifesaving movement.

I would also like to thank the volunteer committee of the Supporters Club for their sensible governance of the Club during what I think I can reasonably say has been its most difficult year. Bryan Jones, our General Manager, has managed the Club and his team superbly during this past year. He has the full support of the committee, and we rely heavily on him to continue his great work.

See you at the Club.John McNamaraSupporters Club President

Looking forward to the future

It may take some time to get fully back to normal, which again is why the club needs a committee and management team that can deal with whatever is thrown at us in the future.
