MOISTURE RESISTANT RURAL ROADS WITH ZYDEX
DESIGN‐ A NEW GREEN ALTERNATIVE TO GRANULAR BASE AND WMM LAYER
ZYDEX GREEN ROAD CONCEPT
LAYER CONSTRUCTION METHODOLOGY1. If cement addition is desired spread on the in‐situ / borrow soil.2. Rip and loosen the cement spreaded soil with a tractor operated ripper / rotavator to a
maximum depth of 200 mm.3. Spray Terrasil solution prepared as above, while operating rotovater.4. Excavate the treated soil and carry to the point of construction use the paver for
spreading of the treated soil to the desired lift thickness typically 110mm ‐ 115 mm toachieve a compacted thickness of 75 mm.
5. Compact the soil with one pass of vibro‐roller and then spread the approved granularmaterial with a paver over the partially compacted treated soil and saturate the surfacewith a Spray of Terrasil + ZycoBond + Water solution (2:1:400) at 2 litre/m2.
6. Compact with a vibro roller at least 2 times to achieve the desired MDD of the treatedsoil and the compacted thickness of 85 mm.
7. After compacting composite soil & granular layer, spray Terrasil solution (1:200) at 3litres per sq.m on formation sides up to entire depth till subgrade.
8. The Terrasil spray at the ends of formation width ensures the curtailing of moistureentrance from sides and repeated spraying on the bottom layer provides completeresistance to water.
9. Repeat steps 1 to 7 for additional layers as required.10. On the final layer of stabilized soil produce a stone base layer replicating the WBM /
WMM surface by spreading and embedding well graded aggregate of 20 mm sievepassing and not using granular base material and compact with the Terrasil andZycobond spray.

BLACK TOP LAYER
¢ Follow the Terraprime protocol to do a waterproofed and chemical bonded prime coat over the base course.
¢ Lay HMA prepared with ZycoTherm modified bitumen which will be a water resistant bituminous layer.
¢ One can also construct a water resistant chip‐seal or a cold mix (micro surfacing) layer using Nanotacconstruction protocols.
PAVEMENT PRESERVATION TECHNIQUES
PAVEMENT PRESERVATION TECHNIQUES
• Proactive approach in maintaining existing roads to extend pavement life
• Cost effective treatment
• Postpone costly rehabilitation and reconstruction
• Zydex Nanotechnologies offer low cost easy to use solutions for expressways & Highways, Rural Roads and unpaved roads
