2. Module Synopsis
The module presents opportunities to apply in architectural design projects the ideas, knowledge,methods and techniques acquired in other modules. The aims of this module are to explore:• Analysis of brief, site, context and precedent• Spatial and formal qualities• Structural, constructional and environmental strategies• Personal development• Presentation of design process and detail design in exhibition
3. Outline Syllabus
Briefing documents specify the programme of work and the required presentation material. Studentsare expected to record preliminary ideas, sketches, analysis, design development, and technicalresearch in their sketchbooks and portfolios for discussion at tutorials and presentations. Selectedelements of the design are developed in detail.

5. Learning and Teaching Strategy/Methods
Design projects supported by lectures, seminars, self-directed research, brief development and siteanalysis, drawing board tuition, group tutorials, crits, peer-group interaction and independent study.
6. Assessment
Coursework: 100% Coursework Assessment will be through project assignments presented in anexhibition context. That is, specified exhibition material together with a portfolio and sketchbookincluding preliminary studies and design development work. All assignments contribute to the modulemark reported to the exam board.
