Protect Your Portable Device from Damage When Simultaneously Using Multiple Power SuppliesThe MAX14606/MAX14607 are high-voltage, high-current overvoltage protectors (OVPs) that feature reverse bias blocking capability so that two power sources can be safely interfaced simultaneously without damage to either one. In this design, two integrated back-to-back FETs prevent the voltage applied at the intended output from feeding back into the input. Without this reverse bias blocking, users are forced to use multiple discrete, space-consuming external components to protect the end equipment.

High Efficiency Over a Wide Load Extends Battery Life

1.2A Step-Down DC-DC Achieves Up to 95% Efficiency, 16µA IQThe MAX1556/MAX1557 step-down DC-DC converters save battery life by having the lowest supply current under all operating conditions, including light load, heavy load, and dropout. These devices provide the fastest load and line-regulation responses of any parts in their class. Use them to get longer standby and operating times in your PDA, smartphone, digital camera, and other handheld devices.

• Single part has one adjustable and three fixed outputs

• Pin-programmable 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.8V, and adjustable outputs at 1.2A (MAX1556)

• Pin-programmable 1.5V, 1.3V, 1.0V, and adjustable outputs at 600mA (MAX1557)

• Analog soft-start with zero overshoot
