Conclusions

This SW tool offers a solution to consulting companies for mobilecommunication regulatory projects:

- RAN strategic planning- Deployment Costs Optimization

It gives the chance of analyzing every radio access technologies thatare currently or going to be deployed in a near future, performingsimulations based on highly accurate, reliable and adaptablealgorithmsThis study is focused on the efficiency comparison, in terms of cost, between the two most relevant technologies when offering the mobilebroadband access service, HSPA and LTE

Page 17: Mobile Broadband Access Service (MBAS) over HSDPA and LTE technology

Conclusions

LTE is more efficient for transferring high binary rate data than HSPAInvestment cost savings from 70% to 80% when installing LTEequipment instead of HSPA equipmentFactors that should be taken into account when deciding whichtechnology is deployed:

- Type of subscriber and demand of the service- Urban, suburban or rural environment- Available spectrum for each technology (bandwidth and frequencyband)
